Millionaire for Life to replace both games starting Sunday
By Kate Northrop
Players who want one last shot at playing Cash4Life or Lucky for Life should get their tickets now before the games' final drawings take place Saturday night.
Once Saturday's Cash4Life and Lucky for Life drawings take place, that's it Millionaire for Life will be coming in as their replacement.
Feb. 21 is the final day to play either of the multi-state games in your jurisdiction. On Feb. 22, tickets go on

Roll over
The cash value goes up with sales (27.6305% to be exact). Then, they calculate what the annuity value is based on that cash prize and current interest rates. If interest rates go up, the sum total of annuity payments goes up. If interest rates go down, the sum total of annuity payments goes down.
It would be nice if these lottery games would just advertise the cash value, and let the winner decide to put the money into an annuity, or not. The sum total of annuity payments under whatever inve

Millionaire For Life ...ripoff
While I have to agree with everything that's been said in this thread about Millionaire4Life, There is this - some players will quit playing a game that went from 2 dollars per line to 5 dollars because they can't afford it.
MUSL and the state lottery's are well aware that some players won't be able to afford to play the new game, but they also know players that can't afford it don't and cant move the needle with regard to ticket sales. Therefore they aren't concerned about those players not

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
Here's what we know about the upcoming for life draw game
By Kate Northrop
The new Millionaire for Life multi-state draw game is just around the corner, which will offer the jackpot of a lifetime.
Millionaire for Life is set to debut in just a month, as Lottery Post first announced last October. As we say goodbye to Lucky for Life and Cash4Life for good, here's what we know so far about the new multi-state for life game that will replace them.
Players in 31 jurisdictions will ha

Lucky For Life to Millionaire For Life - $5 Ticket
I think both games are computer generated.
I believe the appealing part for the States is that the game is not a growing jackpot, so if sales increase and winnings don't, they get to keep more for good cause
I hope with the combined games we get to see a jackpot winner once or twice a month

The Washington Lottery has announced that it will be holding a St. Patrick's Day Raffle for the very first time, advertising the best odds at winning a million dollars.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
MM was unlucky in that, for their highest jackpot annuity win of $980 million, there was an 8% chance someone would win (based on number of tickets sold since the previous drawing), and someone did win.
The same thing happened in the two previous jackpot wins since the rule change, and MM was even more unlucky in that they sold fewer tickets and someone won it.
With slow ticket sales and outrageous odds of winning, on average the number of rollovers will be much higher.

No winner again: Powerball jackpot hits $1.6 billion in longest-ever rollover run
Haven't you been paying attention?
Interest rates, ticket sales.
Not complicated.

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
Can't get anything past you, can I? Except sarcasm.
Along with the lower interest rate and a magically increased cash value, the sales estimate was revised downward from $312 million to $288.5 million. The estimate for the funded annuity was also revised downward from 1.502B to 1.475B. The only reason the posted cash value was raised is because the previously posted cash value can't buy a big enough annuity to match what they've advertised.
It's hardly the first time. For at least a cou

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
That is incorrect.
The cash option is not a calculation, it is a direct estimate based on actual + estimated remaining sales. The cash value going up means more tickets were sold to this point than were anticipated to be sold at this point.
The annuity certainly changed too, based on the updated cash amount, but likely not enough to change a 1.xx billion precision format.
