Do some number combinations have better odds?
Thanks RJOh Im using the 3 til it hits, just like I did the 8, I think this is much BETTER odds than playing all 46 because all I have to do is hit in less than 46 draws and I have beaten the odds.
The 8 hit on the 18th draw, so I had BETTER odds by a 2.5 to 1 margin.

Lottery Is Odd(s)
I was recently reading through an old Casino Player Magazine which brought up some interesting things about odds. An article was talking about a man who won the MegaBucks jackpot on a slot machine where the odds are 1 in 50,000,000. He not only won it once....he won it twice....16 years apart! The first time for $4.6 mil...the second for $21 mil.
The thing that got me thinking was an example the writer explained about what the man's actual odds were to win this twice.
He says that picture

$320 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot increased before draw date
and putting it in a safety deposit box at the bank means the ticket is 100 percent safe? What about if the bank catches on fire? What about a crooked bank employee trying to steal your ticket during the 4 months your waiting for election day? Yes I'm aware the odds of those scenarios happening are astronomical but think about it this way, you just won Powerball meaning you beat astronomical odds (1 in 175223510) in order to win. Something happen to you despite astronomical odds once, who's to sa

USA MM test run of various pick methods
I wouldn't use the word prove in test runs. I'd rather say show or demonstrate that there can be methods that deliver above odds. I explained at the first post a given target of providing 2x the odds for 3 4 correct numbers in a test run of 10 draws. For anyone who may participate here, if he can achieve 3 or more times a 3+ win within the next 10 draws he has something at hand to use. Achieving a 2x odds improvement might not be worthy from a profit point of view but it is the very step needed

USA MM test run of various pick methods
Total combinations are not a concern here. What we try to show is that there are approaches capable to perform above odds. Formulating a daily strategy around 18 or 28 picked numbers probably is out of reach for everyone around here. But the first step towards a strategy is to be able and perform above odds however, this is step No1. Depending how much better we perform, we can discuss on a possible strategy then and if adding more megaballs is worth to do or not. Till then, the aim is to show t

Odds for Calif scratcher Power 77 (#732)?
duckman wrote:
``The number of chances to match a winner number on the ticket is irrelevant to the odds of the game. When games are created, the game rules dictate how many winners and what amounts will be created. For example, if a game will have 1000 winners of $100, we can make the $100 winning tickets a combination of one number match for $100, five numbers match for $20 each, a 2x doubler symbol for $50, and so on.``
Aha! Thanks so much for that insight. I can see now that you are rig

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Just so you know Stack, no one here is talking about creating a group of 28 numbers that consistently matches all 5 numbers ...........
The object is to choose combinations that will give you BETTER ODDS because of the intuitive and predictive ability of the person choosing the combinations.
Pick the numbers you think will give you the quickest win.
Its kind of like playing beat the clock ...... only you are playing beat the odds
The odds for any random group of 98,280 lines hitt

Which odds are better. Part 2.
I see your point Coin Toss, 5-10 hits are made on the $250k prize every draw. But that only means that 20+ million lines are being sold every draw, not that its easier to hit.
I think the state is competing with MM by having games that return 50% of revenues in prize money, part of the strategy is having a $500k prize at 4.8 million to $1 odds to compete with MM $250k prize at 3.9 million to $1 odds
When I say 4.8 million to $1 chance of hitting $500k on a scratcher, I have converted the $

Lotto odds and hitting the big one
So I keep thinking how much does it take to win the big one? You hear all the time of people who spend alot on just one drawing and never hit it and some who spend $1 or so and hit it big on any drawing. I started playing the regular colorado lotto $65 a drawing thought that would do ok with the odds being at least 1:5,000,000. Doing a quick idea of what it would take for me to win. So what do ya'll think how much is the lucky amount for a game you play or is it just a little here and there? Als

Live from Pittsburgh,Pa
First of all i like to wish every1 good luck in this drawin this is the best chance to ever win a jackpot.Because mostly all the combinations are played except the end pieces of the bread.I mean if ur playing the end pieces of the bread u gotta be out of ur mind.Lol with that being said does watchin the drawing increase ur odds of winning?I like to think so ur more like a trillion to 1 odds of that happening.Only in hollywood would u see somethin like that.Half a billion dollar jackpot WOW i mea
