Hi Spencerjames, thanks for sure on noting the $5K. Florida doesn't have an income tax, but on the Federal return I believe gambling outlays can be accounted for. I think though it might require itemization and I'm also not sure what cost/loss evidence is needed (e.g. losing tickets vs purchase receipt). With the recent significant expansion of Standard Deduction I'm just not much a candidate for itemizing. As far as the FL website's posted odds for $50K win on the FL 500X yes it's hosed..

The above info posted by Raven62 is very revealing. I might have posted about it in the past, but I do think it's worth writing about again. It's telling you that out of a pool of 376,992 possible five number combinations, 8,568 of them are all odd numbers and 8,568 are all even numbers. 8,568 is 0.227% of the total 376,992 combinations.
