Million Dollar raffle tickets for TN start Jan 24, 2007
For those of you keeping up with Tennessee Raffle, here is my latest info. As of 6:35 pm March 6, 2007....... 310,851 tickets have been sold. If the goal is 800,000, Tennessee has a long road ahead. We might have the drawing shortly after the second coming. Maybe.

Mix & Match the end?
...... just my 2 cents on this new game ... I have thrown in the towel myself on this game .. mix match. I was all excited about the game when I first read about it and that there was only going to be 19 numbers in the game. I quit playing last week .... $2.00 is too much for so little return ... I did hit 4 numbers once and of course got only $20 .... in my case I only have so many lottery dollars to spend per month and I still think the Match 6 game in PA is still the bargain game when

Cancer victim struggles to get $1 million lottery prize in lump sum
For those of you who get on me because I frequently complain about NY's annuity-only scratch games, this is exactly why I do so. Any bill introduced into legislation to give Mr Schenk the money upfront should apply to ALL lottery winners in NY state. I also think Mr Schenk should try to contact new Gov Eliot Spitzer. This has given the NY Lottery a black eye, just as with Louise Outing with MA Megabucks. NY does have a new lottery director. I seem to be encouraged by him (the NY Lottery took a s

% of Population Which Play the Lottery?
I voted 75%, but maybe I just want to convince myself that I'm not so different! I meet people everyday who say they never buy tickets, but I'm guessing they might pick up a few when the jackpot is very high. When Florida had that Raffle in Nov for New Year's Day, the 1,250,000 tickets were sold out in about a week. Regarding the article from the government, averages are deceiving. Men women walk on 2 legs. Dogs, cats, horses and other animals walk on 4 legs. So would that mean the

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
You guys are right on the money and that is evident with the interest that people have with the raffle drawings as of late. I mean these tickets are $20 most of the time and people have no problem buying 1 or more of those. They do think the players are ignorant to the odds and just see the money, but we are not. Most of us anyway

Lottery tickets prove a popular gift
What started out as a stocking stuffer for Fred Heckman's grandchildren turned into a profitable tradition for the family. One year when he was searching for small extras to give his two grandchildren on Christmas, the Endicott, N.Y., man discovered a New York Lottery promotion that offered $10 worth of scratch-off tickets packaged in a festive envelope. He hasn't found them since that year, but every year since, he has purchased $10 worth of tickets as a present whichever games feel lucky.

Tenn. Lottery introduces new raffle game
To mark its third anniversary, the Tennessee Lottery introduced a game Monday that gives Tennesseans the best odds yet to win $1 million. The new game, Million $ Madness, gives players a one in 200,000 chance of winning $1 million. Rebecca Paul Hargrove, the chief executive officer of the Tennessee Education Lottery, said lotto players always want a better chance of winning prizes, which they can have in the new game. It's the best odds yet of winning $1 million, Hargrove said.

I went to PA to celebrate the end of Lucky for Life
Today was a very interesting day. First I stopped at the A P where I work. A woman bought a NY Raffle to Riches ticket. All such tickets are printed with CASH VALUE , which isn't necessary. Then I drove to the Port Jervis area. In New Jersey I played $5 of Pick-6 Lotto. In recent years, Pick-6 players didn't have to choose cash or annuity unless they won, but, apparently, New Jersey has gone back to requiring Pick-6 players to choose when playing. Next I went into Pennsylvania. After I got i

Random Generation of Quickpicks
The last time I checked into this subject, both GTECH machines and Scientific Games machines generated Quick Picks at the terminal. Unless you know of a state that uses something else, I'd say it's a reasonable assumption that they all do. There are very few games were the numbers get generated on the mainframe. Raffle games are the best examples I can think of. BY the way T.C, I had not noticed that.
