Hoosier Lotto
If there's any time to play Hoosier Lotto, it's now, because after it's won, it could be a very long time before it comes even close to what it is now. I don't think the jackpot is the only prize to justify a switch from PowerBall though. It all depends on which scale you want to play and what odds you want. You got multi-state lotteries like PowerBall and Mega Millions that can reach supersized jackpots and the odds of winning top prize is huge. Then you got state jackpot lotteries that can rea

small multi line lottos
Figuring that they keep 50% of the money right off the bat you should plan on losing money by playing the game. Only you can decide if it's a game you want to play. You could start by comparing the odds of winning the different prizes to other games you could play. You should probably also assume that the odds aren't really as good as advertised for the combination wins. Those odds are presumably based on not having any repeated numbers, but since you don't choose the 12 numbers in the 2nd and

question about the jackpots...
For MM I always play all 46 Mega numbers. It would add 11.2 million to whatever the cash prize is and lowers the odds to a 1/56 game. Not that one ticket in a 1/56 game has great odds but it's better than the standard mega odds. Only play when it's over $200 million though. Most states have a maximum cap of around 30 million in the NW. Don't know about other states. You could hit the cap in Oregon by playing with the PowerPlay but Oregon also has an onerous state income tax of 9% with no deducti

Anybody here ACTUALLY won a substantial amount of $$?
I've been playing since texas lottery began. I now play the oklahoma lottery. I've never won more than $50 here, $30 there. I never spend more than $2 per drawing ($1 Powerball,$1 PowerPlay) and $1 per drawing (Cash 5, three times a week). I don't play Pick 3 or Scratch-offs. Because I spend so little, my odds of winning are slim to none. But that won't stop me. Odds are odds whether you spend $1 or $100. p.s. Powerball Jackpot is $210 mil.

Trash diving
well anyone looking in a trash can has to realize that the odds arent good that a winner was sold there and the winner checked their ticket in the store, somehow overlooked it and thought it was a loser and then decided to throw it in the trash and on top of all of that you would have to get there before the trash is emptied or before another person who goes through the trash for tickets gets there. i have seen people get free tickets from scratch offs that way in the trash can but no jackpot wi

Fla. man, Va. woman win $44 million lottery prize
Only 1/2 of your purchase or thereabouts goes to the winners (all winners, not just Jackpot) and the other is supposed to be for Education or whatever. beating 1-in-176 million odds - does that mean they only played 1 ticket? Otherwise it might be beating 5-in-176 million odds or something. Even then that would assume that was the only time they played. The odds of a given person winning are not as high as they appear.

how often do you play powerball/mega millions in your state?
But Rick, ANY type of gambling is a sucker bet, be it scratch-offs, pick3, pick4, pick5, casino games, Keno, lottery; when you get down to it. Personally, I play PB, odds are 1:146 mill, I feel I can get the odds down to 1:1 mill, but even at that, those are unreal odds, it's still a sucker game, but I enjoy it, it's just a sport to me.

New Florida Raffle
the raffle odds are good compared to the larger lotteries because we never know when they will end and when they will have a winner but the raffle has a set drawing date and much better odds. i went to georgia a few weeks ago to get a ticket for their new raffle game and i have many tickets for the raffle in tennessee monday. i will head to kentucky to get some raffle tickets for their new raffle they are having. so i agree with you justx and todd the odds are good enough to take but at least on

Georgia Millionaire Raffle
i agree it doesnt make sense to be anti quick pick when its only 1 or 2 dollars for on ticket but then to fork over 10 dollars or 20 dollars for a raffle ticket. the odds are really bad in raffle so i dont like the lottery fooling people into thinking they are good odds because at least i know the truth going in and i choose to buy them anyway so i dont want anyone to be misled into the purchase. tennessee million madness raffle will only have 106 winners out of 800,000 tickets sold but i dont t
