British Columbia Lottery wants to upgrade computerized drawing system
By Todd Northrop
Canada's British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) in order to expand and improve its ability to conduct computerized lottery drawings.
While the lottery may view a new computerized drawing system as a step-up for the organization, lottery players may feel differently. In the United States, computerized drawings are the basis for the biggest scandal to ever rock the lottery industry.
According to the RFI, the British Columbia

I'm new to this Game...AND frustrated!
Read my previous reply regarding 8 triples out of ~1548 draws. What's the odds of being drawn 8 times instead of some value towards 15? Probably low single digit percentage. Your point is well taken regarding range, but keeping it simple for readers.
In the ideal, perfect world, computer RNG is just as good as balls. But in the real world, time and time again, lottery computer RNGs have come up short for various reasons, including outright mis-configuration, leading to skewed results. To make

I want to win so I can...
I have to agree about FEEBAY. Whoever is running it now has completely destroyed what was once a great company. They now charge fees on EVERYTHING including shipping and completely favor the Buyer which has brought out all the scammers. Really a shame. Customer service is located in the Philippines.
As for why I want to win? Why not? I have a very small family and we are getting older, it sure would be nice that we wouldnt have to worry about our end days. I want out of the Pacific Northwest,

Has anyone ever hit a deceased relatives numbers the day they passed?
Sorry for your loss wander. My Dad passed back in 2005 and Mom in 2010.
I still want to pick up the phone and call them, but know that's not possible.
As for the numbers...Dad had a favorite pick 3 and I play my Mom's last 4 numbers of her social security number every now and then.
If those numbers win, they were meant for you to play.
Remember the movie... It could happen to you where the cop's wife claimed that her dead father came to her in a dream and gave her the numbers she pla

NYS Lottery commits fraud in sales of Scratch off game
Rather than spending all of your time and financial resources pursuing this matter, you should take this case to some very public news forum, either on local or national TV or social media [lay out your evidence], and let the media conduct their own investigation of the NY Lottery Commission. Go to 60 minutes or one of those national whistle blowing media outlets. The media should be interested in this lottery story, b/c of all of the national hooplah and frenzy stirred up behind the recent Bill

With $63M jackpot expiring today, Calif. Lottery sued by owner of damaged ticket
Do not tear up your tickets. You could be looking at old numbers from past draws.
Do not iron your ticket.
Before I copy my ticket I will make a practice run with a loser. Just to be on the safe side.
Treat your tickets like cash and maybe even better than that.
I create a diary of where, when, and who was at the store. All of this could come in handy when interviewed by Security at your validation day.

HGTV Lottery Dream Home
I saw this one. Struck me as highly improbable.
They won $1Mil, no mention of taxes, etc. In fact the host complimented the couple on only spending $800K of their win and being smart enough to put aside $200K for other expenses.
They would have taken home about $600K, so they were already putting $225K of their own money into the house, or taking out a second mortgage. No mention of property taxes on Gulf Front property, which I imagine are pretty high. Also security and house insurance w

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
I propose that all lottery games make it official that they must wait 180 days after the jackpot has been claimed before publicizing the winner's name and address.
By doing so, this would allow the winners time to sell their homes and move. Most lottery winners would need access to their jackpot winnings before they would be able to move. I mean, even if you know where you would move if you won, you would still need to travel to your new location for home viewings. There are many things to co

Irish lottery site and ticket machines hit by DDoS attack
That makes me wonder:
How much can take the server?
What happens when the server receives too many requests?
Some program might drop the security, what happens on the server?
What comes with the attack, what is the goal, how is it done?

California Lottery officials seized surveillance footage from store that sold Powerball ticket
Listen to Lawyers Andrew Stoltsman and Jason Kurland.
Winner! You have a target on your back. You are on the list of international crime syndicates. But, the good news is you are wealthy enough to defend yourself. Security companies abound and are all over the globe.
Why the rush by the Lottery Organizations? Publicity and money. The LOVE of money is the root of many evils.
Why is Flint, Michigan in the news? Money.
