If you want to save money while playing the lottery, put your money in the Premium bond lottery. Otherwise, select the lottery you have the best chance of winning, i.e.: Lowest odds. Have an agreement in writing how winnings will be divided and what happens if a ticket holding member also plays independently and wins. Work out a system for picking numbers, usually some ratio of hot, average, cold based on frequency and skips and hits and wheel them. BobP

I said that, and techinally I dont know for sure but when I see combos that aren't an obvious date or sequence, someone chose to play a number that many times and the odds of more than one person choosing the same setup of numbers for the same draw are very slim. Most quinto draws go without a big winner everyday sometimes weeks then you get a few and sometimes a big one like today.

In general for any state pick 3 game the median value for any pair to repeat is 5 draws. The mean value is between 7-8 draws. Here is the current chart for California for the last 400 draws. anypair The thing that stands out from this chart is the Sums Repeat column. I am not sure if I have to put up the dupe alert sign in response to this post. The only sure thing I can bet on is myself. I dont put any faith into quickpicks. I have had over twenty 4/5 wins, and I have never even gotten one 4/5 with a quickpick, when I play over 200 quickpicks per year for the last ten years. Everybody knows playing the lottery is a sucker's bet, but for me personally, it's all about the fun. I'm well aware of the math/odds/what-have-you, but I could not care less. Will I win a jackpot?
