Mega Millions Sets A New Record
I think the only record Mega is pushing for is how long it takes to hit a record. Considering the odds there should have been a much higher jackpot by now but there hasn't been. Euromillions has 100 million less combinations and it shattered all records. I have a feeling the Euromillions run is a rare event though. With Megamillions I'm shocked it has only broke 300 million once since it was created. The odds before the matrix change were very high, now the odds are 1:175 million and I'm still w

STOP that noise !!
There are odds for everything that can happen in the game, hence we have filters, etc. The purchase of two tickets cuts the odds in half. It doesn't split the field in half, it just means each ticket faces off against half, but the halves aren't specific. In the same sense. When I play the NSW lottery at only .50 cents per ticket my odds per dollar are cut in half. BobP

odds are reduced
I find it so amazing that so many people think that buying TWO tickets has reduced your odds in half! As so many other people have correctly pointed out ... if the odds are say 1:40,000,000 that means that there are a total of 40 million combinations and by buying one ticket you have ONE of those 40 million possible combinations covered. There are still 39,999,999 combinations left so your odds now are 1:39,999,999.

if your state switched would you play?
My focus is the money. What is the difference in odds of me winning with a computer and the odds of me winning with a machine? I think they are the same. I'm not a millionaire with the ball dropper. So I have no love for the ball dropper. Would I win if they went to a computer? The odds are in favor of NO I would not. So I see no difference to my bottom line.

lotto tennessee,georgia,south carolina!
Kentucky also plays Power Ball on the same night, so I doubt that the launching of Tennessee's lottery is entirely to blame for Lotto South's poor performance. Several people have indicated that they prefer Lotto South over Power Ball because of the lower odds. If a person favors lower-odds games, then why would they care if Tennessee has Power Ball on the same night? It seems to me that they would continue to play Lotto South, even if it means crossing the border to get tickets. But Lotto

Kansas Cash 3 Drawings
The odds are 1 in 1000^3, which equals 1,000,000,000 (One in a Billion) for that particular combination to be drawn three times in a row. However, if you were to consider all of the possible outcomes for three consecutive games, then there would be exactly 1,000,000,000 possibilities with 1000 of those being every straight Pick 3 number being drawn three times in a row.The overall probabiliity to see the actual event of the same Pick 3 number being drawn for three games in a row would be: 1000^3

LOTTERY’S First-ever millionaire raffle
I wonder what happens if all the tickets are not sold? What if they have 50,000 left, would they count? Or would they just pick from the pot of all of those sold, thus lowering the odds drastically? Surely though they will claim that they sold them all, as they already advertising only less than 75,000 left. But how would we really know how many was actually out there? Seems as though people seem to be buying them like hotcakes, just in time. I bet all are not sold until almost the last week or

Texas Lottery to change Lotto game back to 6/54 format
Interesting. Yet another state that is now decreasing the Pick-6 matrix.Until recently, state lotteries have been continually increasing the Pick-6 matrices, apparently hoping that lottery players wouldn't notice that their chances of winning were being drastically reduced with each subsequent increase. But as the lottery players in Texas have shown, eventually it gets to a point where people say, enough is enough, and just stop buying tickets.Sure, the jackpots won't be quite as large now, b

Texas Lottery to change Lotto game back to 6/54 format
O.K. Here's my idea. Now, obviously, people do not like the 5+1 format. But I'm sure people still like the multiple ways to win, and the improved overall odds. So I decided on a 6/54 format, but with a seperate bonus ball drawn from the remaining 48 (kind of like my Super Lotto South format). This will have the best of both worlds.
