Do some number combinations have better odds?
Interesting mirror image picks on your MM and PB tickets Ronnie316.
Looking at your lines I see that they all have at least one number delta of 4 or less. Is that an intentional part of your number selection method or just a coincidence? The reason I ask is that I also do this for the 5/40 +1 type games that I play as one piece of my overall strategy. If you do pick your numbers this way how is it working for you in the bigger number field jackpot games? Do you find you win more often than th

Post your scratch ticket results
James, I guess I can wait until tomorrow to find out, but do you know if the new game is a $600 roll, or a $1,000?
I haven't seen anything on the new game yet, but I'll be sure to check it out tomorrow if I see it around.... Do you have a link to anything? I'm not seeing anything online yet, just wondering what you've seen along the lines of odds or what the game looks like, etc....
Hope you do great on the roll tomorrow! I will be checking here to see your results!!!!

why did more people win in the 1990's than today? Lotto.
Scientistman,
Yeah, more numbers make the odds to win harder.
In the game you're looking at did the matrix expand? Over the years that seems to be the trend.
Also, those prizes for 5 of 6 seem a little light. I'm thinking that being the case the earlier game matrix might have been considerably smaller.
I was also thihnking that just maybe ball drawings vs computerized might have something to do with it, if that game went from one to the other.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
A649KING2B,
Could you please explain what you mean by,
1 in 3 draws or slightly better, my odds ARE 1 in 73,815, this is totally provable based on the draw history.
No need to prove anything, just explain how this relates to your original post, which implied that your returns were in line with what is expected without a Jackpot, about 25 Cents on the $.

It now appears certain that Megamillions will go 6 months...
I'd be willing to bet your typical big game jackpot player either doesn't know or care about expectation value. More people are forking over money for powerball because the prizes are bigger and the overall odds are better, simple as that.
I would personally spend $10 for 5 PB lines before I would spend $10 for 10 MM lines any day. I think MM is gonna have to consider some sort of matrix change and or megaplier revamp soon if it wants to remain competitive with PB, especially with player

Some new results on some old techniques.
This is from the starter sheet of the even/odd book. This is exactly how the numbers moved for the entire month of January evening draws for here. (Well up to the 27th anyway). I've highlighted some of the patterns so you can see them. You will see so many of these with this it isn't even funny. And, there is a mathematical way to see what is going on here. Take the yellow pattern. It started on the 1st and went to the 7th. Notice how the 4 was right in the center and kinda broke away from the g

Do some number combinations have better odds?
RJOh,
If you dig deep enough in your data mine you might find a set of 28 with even more than 36 hits of 5, since this result is still within the range of reasonable expectations. What did you conclude from this 36 HIT set?
Since you found earlier that the set [1..28] produced a typical, normal result, I was hoping yuu would run your data against the upper half of the range, [29..56]. Did you run it? If so, what was the result? With the code you've already written, I'm sure you could also

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Did you mean you always get the last 2 numbers drawn or you always match at least 2?
We have a 649 game in Ohio too and it seldom that I don't match 2 at least once when I play, but the odds of matching 2 are 1:8 and I usually play 10 lines so I figured it wasn't worth bragging about since it doesn't pay anything.
We've only had 951 drawings, so the game hasn't run long enough to expect combinations of six to repeat. Even when its combinations are combined with the combinations of the old
