Shocking, I guess the odds of that happening are about 526,500 to 1 ????????

Do we lottery players have any rights in game changes?
It ticks me off that they are changing Hot Lotto ... GRRRRR!!! I just started playing this game not too long ago.
If you go to Wikipedia and type in Hot Lotto, you can find a comparison of odds payouts between the current and new game.
At least they are increasing the payouts for the lower prizes. My only hope is that I can win more of the lower prizes while I wait for the BIG ONE!!!
Note: I **WOULD HAVE** posted the link to this, but I got warned by Lottery Post that if I do this

Would you stop gambling if you win large amount of money?
Yea, seems like quitting after a big win would be the thing to do,
can't even figure the odds of a 2nd win since they're separate events.
OTOH now you have so much $ it does'nt matter.
maybe I would be just an occasional player ?
Or would having won once, change your perspective and encourage you to play more ?
As long as theres' football and horses I'll have something to gamble on.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
That's why I say you aren't beating the odds, because if you finished your homework you'd find out that you aren't.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
And how would a test that presumably has 50/50 odds prove anything?
If you kept results of your numbers, and mine, and continue to do so they will eventually even out to approximately the same ROI, within a few percentage points eventually. I don't know how long it will take - and I potentially could do the math to find out approximately how long it would take 95% of the time, but I just don't care about putting anything silly like this to the test.
I'm not the one claiming to be

Fallacies, and two REAL ways of improving your chances
You were on the right track, but it looks like Steve eliminates duplicate straight combos to get his total of 54. Any two digits in any two digit positions with all the other digits creates 60 straight combos, but 6 of the combos are duplicates: 115, 151, 155, 511, 515, and 551.
I don't know his betting strategy, but the playing strategy is similar to playing 10 box bets. In states where a box bet actually pays 1/6 of the straight prize, a player could get the same effect by betting a 50 cent

Do some number combinations have better odds?
RJOh,
Some folks just hate the idea of a lucky lottery player winning so much money for so little work.
And how many people do you know who are in this category? I don't know one. Do you think there might have been another reason those folks advocated for smaller jackpots?
Besides, what does this have to do with whether certain number combinations have better odds than others?

$208 MILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot to be drawn Wednesday
I agree.
You're right ... that amount is mind boggling! I seriously think that MOST people don't have a concept of what a million is, let alone $208 million.
Personally, I wouldn't want that much. I would really like to win about $5 million. I don't have to worry about winning the $208 M, because I don't even play MM or PB. I refuse to play a game with odds as absurdly high as those games, as long as I have a better option. My game is Hot Lotto. I have to cross into Kansas to play ... but

The stores video camera.
And nowhere have I said that isn't reality. I think almost everyone who plays thinks they will win some day, it's why they play. Otherwise why buy a ticket? Of course most everyone will not win a jackpot, but what's to say some, or even just one, won't?
I'll say this again, the same people who won fell into that .1% and they are just like you and I.
It's amazing how anti-lottery you are, seeing as how we're on a lottery site. All I've seen here is constant criticizing of people who think t

Fallacies, and two REAL ways of improving your chances
This is how you've been fooled. You keep mentioning odds of a 6/36 game, but no one was asking you that. It's completely irrelevant.
I'm asking you, what do you think your chances of winning the jackpot are, given that you buy 8 lines with BobP's strategy?
If you think it's 1:1,947,792, then I'm afraid your strategy is worse than quickpicks, because the chances for winning with 8 random quickpick lines are
1:1,533,939.
P.S tonight's lotto 6/49 in Canada will have the f
