Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle
Very Similar to Pennsylvania's New Year's Millionaire Raffle.
PA draws four winners of $1,000,000 out of 500,000 tickets sold which also produces 125,000 to 1 odds.
PA draws 2 tickets each week for the eight weeks while tickets are on sale. Weekly drawing winners get $50,000 each, and are still eligible to win one of the four $1,000,0000 prizes drawn on January 5th, 2019. Only the tickets sold during that particular week are eligible for the $50,000 prize. So if they sold 45,000 tickets d

$970 MILLION: Mega Millions ticket-buying frenzy forces new jackpot estimate
I had asked a question a while ago and everyone was confused by it. I wanted to know if a quick-pick ticket was supposed to be random, why did so many ticket get the same numbers.
Well, to answer your question, sort of..... Just because there are all these tickets being purchased, it doesn't mean that every possible combination of numbers is or will be sold.
Many of the tickets, even if they sell 302,757,350 tickets, although random, will contain the same numbers of other tickets sold and

Super Raffle/Best Michigan games ever?
I was in Michigan and bought one raffle ticket. If I go back before they re all sold out I might pick up another one. It looks like they ve sold almost 1/3 of the tickets so far. The top two prizes ($4 million and $2 million) being annuity prizes and not cash prizes seems to be a sticking point with some people I have talked to about the game but it is fine by me.
Am I correct in thinking that since it is a Michigan only game it can be claimed anonymously?
I also picked up some 6/47 lotto

Online lottery concept
First of all it's a raffle not a lottery in the true sense of the word. While lotteries used to be that way, now you get to make your own luck by picking your own numbers.
Second, you will be banned from offering it to people in the U.S., can't use PayPal or credit cards that abide by U.S. law, etc.
Third, how many draws are you going to lay out a grand if there aren't enough players to cover the guaranteed win amount, or will you hold back draws until you've made your nut?

Two CT Lottery employees suspended without pay for their roles in botched raffle drawing
Two middle-level Connecticut Lottery Corp. employees have been suspended without pay in the continuing fallout from a million-dollar mistake in the Jan. 1 drawing that selected winners in the New Year's Super Draw game.
Disciplined for neglect of duty were drawing supervisor Valerie Guglielmo and investigator Robert Balicki. Both served on a five-member drawing team that mistakenly excluded 100,000 of 214,601 eligible tickets that had been sold to players. The error resulted in a do-over draw

CT Lottery holds do-over raffle drawing
Someone who purchased tickets for the drawing and won a prize in the Jan 1 drawing might not have their tickets either.
Usually when you cash in a winning ticket, you go to a lottery retailer and present the ticket to the clerk. They take the ticket and scan it. It says, CONGRATULATIONS and you get your cash.
The clerk doesn't usually give you back the lottery ticket after it's been cashed. It goes into the trash can.
How would you know if you won another prize in the second drawing? I

CT Lottery holds do-over raffle drawing
Million-dollar winner is one of the tickets excluded from the first drawing
16 tickets won prizes in both drawings
The Connecticut Lottery Corp. held a do-over drawing Tuesday morning to partially correct a $1.375 million blunder that happened Jan. 1, when nearly half of the eligible tickets in the New Year's Million-Dollar Super Draw game 100,000 out of the 214,601 sold at $10 each were excluded from the drawing.
The electronic drawing was conducted without apparent problems by a team

Pa lottery retailers changing payouts
How long have you saved the tickets? Having to wait 6 weeks to get paid is crazy. You can get your income tax refund faster than that!!!
I just went on the Pa lottery website. Here's what it says.
How long do I have to collect a prize?
Winners have up to one year from the date of a drawing to claim a prize from one of the Pennsylvania Lottery s terminal-based games: PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4, PICK 5, Cash4Life, Cash 5, Match 6 Lotto, Mega Millions, Powerball, Treasure Hunt, and Millionaire

How will the new tax bill effect lottery winnings?
KYFloyd responded with this comment; It depends upon how much they win Correct Floyd!
I just saw and read article that said these days you have to be worth 2.5 million to be considered rich .
Guess I'll still be a poor slob if I win a cool mill playing the Pennsylvania New Year's Millionaire Raffle. I'll walk away with only 665 grand in my pocket. I guess I'll just have to get used to the fact that I'll have zero debt, and a very cushy monthly income in retirement that will afford me the

Megaplier Change October 2017
Yep, the Wikipedia article on Mega Millions has that info.
What they are doing is putting all the old and loyal players out to pasture by raising the ticket price AND making it harder to win AGAIN!
The statement they are making is 'don't waste your money on these games until the jackpots are super high and even then you probably wont even win a small prize.'
The two games have passed the reasonable point and are now just hideous. They might as well convert both games into jackp
