Do some number combinations have better odds?
Imagination is the reason why players purchase lottery tickets or play any games of chance. You're playing a game with a $89 million jackpot and Boney says you don't follow logic, but thinks it's logical to compare MM to an imaginary game with a $4 jackpot.
A Positive Energy Flow was created when you successfully predicted that your group of 28 numbers would match five numbers and the bonus number too. While the NEF people were telling you is was just dumb luck, I was checking to see if it wa

Do some number combinations have better odds?
There chart is accurate, and you are misinterpreting the data is provides.
The chart is accurate but somewhat misleading to the average player, but then you wouldn't had the chance to show off your math skills.
Thanks for the input, but I already knew the odds against any of the 3,819,816 possible combinations matching the bonus number. I also know that 2,349,060 of the 3,819,816 combinations will not match a number, but about 2.17% of them should match just the bonus number.
But righ

Laid off Oregon man wins $1 million
RE: The QP debate
Quick picks are just numbers. When you play any game, numbers are chosen. Period. The odds don't change whether you pick them or a computer picks them. Quick picks win so frequently because more than 75% of all tickets sold are quick picks. For games like PB and MM it is probably higher than other games. Most people I know who play pick-3 and pick-4 games usually choose their own numbers. However, I've stood in many lines when the player in front of me said to the clerk Give

Do some number combinations have better odds?
You make a good point that 1 year of data is only 104 draws out of 175 million. That's why I chose to keep the bonus number as merely a bonus and focus on hitting 5 of 5 with 1 in 39 odds.
As I have said many times, Mediabrats One in a 1000 blog would have required about 9.6 years to hit 5+1 using 175,000 lines per draw. I was only looking to improve slightly on the 9.6 year time horizon.
Oopsa daisy..... Not only did I hit 5+1 in less than 39 draws, so did one of my fellow players.

Any CA Hot Spot (keno) players?
I only tried it a few times before, but since they have the higher payouts promotion on Bulls-Eye this month, I have been playing it more. Gives better overall return and payback now similar to Scratchers with the increased Bulls-Eye payouts.
Since they added Hot spot results on the CA Lottery webpage later last year, it does make it possible to verify your winnings if you did not want to wait around in the liquor store and follow the monitor for the whole time. They post a day later though,

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Greenfox,
The reason I said the question of the possibility of increasing your odds of winning a Lotto game is NOT an unsolved problem is because it is a nonstarter. It has held this status for hundreds of years. You are assuming I meant that someone had solved the problem and is hiding the result. This is not the case.
If you really wish to persist in your pursuit of this goal, I seriously suggest you use my simple 5 Ball Lotto model to test your ideas. If you come up with something that

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Yes, always.
1.0 = 100%. The odds of you picking the right subset of numbers is never 100%.
You can call him dumb, but all you're showing is that you don't know the fundementals of mathemtics. In probability you can express percentages as numbers, where .5 is 50% and 1.0 is 100%. So 50% of 10 dollars is .5*$10=$5.
Or did you not know that you could express percentages as a number? LOL. And you guys accuse me of not knowing 5th grade math. This is literally elementary scho

1 in 27 odds pick 3 great?
Ok here's how I'd tweak ur idea. Play online. Where it's payout is 900$$$. Take 27 people. Form a tight knit lotto group. Every draw your odds of winning would be 1 in 27. Because every draw. Every possible combination would be bought. Each member is assigned 38 numbers to play every draw In straight form...
cost for entire group will be $1000/ 1000 numbers. Guaranteed hit for 1 lucky member every draw...
now the issue is getting paid your winnings..... Chime in on my idea pls....
