Ohio gas station sells $99M Mega Millions ticket
A lottery official says a winning ticket for the Mega Millions lottery jackpot worth $99 million has been sold at a gas station in northeastern Ohio. Ohio Lottery spokeswoman Marie Kildane says the winning jackpot ticket for Friday's drawing was sold at Speedway in Jefferson, 10 miles from the Pennsylvania border. She says the jackpot has been accumulating since July 5. Kildane says the winner can claim the prize beginning Monday because lottery offices are closed for the weekend. The w

Mega Millions Method
Because of the current cost ($552 each time you play) the method is designed to be used only for lottery pools The idea is to target the 2 minimum prizes which are the Mega Only tickets and the Mega plus 1 tickets. Since that are only 46 megaballs, targeting the minimum prizes of 0+1 or greater only cost $46 now, $552 allows you to repeat that strategy twelve times which guarantees a minimum of twelve 0+1 or greater prizes or possible more since the overall odds of winning a prize are 1

Root sum 9....just sum 9 possible 405, 513/315, 090 I have an idea....adding 495/945 just for the heck of it...just for midday. They've been hitting us pretty good with double odds so where's our all odd single? (513/315/351/153) 357/537, 937, 317, 715/175

How closely do you keep track of your tickets? Any scratch game should have a fairly consistent return of about 50% to 70% and that should be expected. If you are only getting back about 50% of what you spend, that is pretty typical. If you are getting 60% or above, you are actually doing pretty good. If the PA scratch games are doing consistently worse than that, it might be possible they are manipulating or varying the payouts structure. That would be kind of sneaky, even if they stay wi

Who has entered more than 1000 2nd chance replay tickets?
Hi ILLotteryman, and welcome to LP, though I'm also so new here that welcoming someone reminds me of the George Carlin routine in which he talked about how the flight attendant announces after landing, Welcome to O'Hare in Chicago. We've been on the ground for three minutes and she's acting like she's the freaking mayor's wife. If that second chance drawing works like the CA Fantasy Five version, they don't even give out the odds on it, saying only that it depends on the number of entri

NH Lottery to debut new scratch game
No the top prize is 250,000 With the possibility of 2 million. Love to know how they are going to advertise this.. Figure out the odds. I know it's gambling but this is like a bait and switch. I can't think of another game where the top prize might not be awarded.

This is a good post Dee..........the lesson to be learned is to not assume that buying alot of tickets will produce a big winner. Now in this case I would have bought at least 5 more tickets if I only got a free ticket out of 25 tickets........................the reason is there is a general computer code where there is no more than 2.5 X the odds on the back of the ticket worth of losers in a row....................so if someone bought 25 two dollar games it is statistically possible on some

The biggest mistake people make is:
In my humble opinion, the biggest mistake is not keeping your foot in the door. I think it's crazy to wait for the PB or MM Jackpots to reach a certain level before spending a buck or two on them. I admit the odds are astronomically against you but they were also astronomically against the guy who won the last Jackpot too. I keep one line of my favorites and one line of Quick Picks in play all the time with multi-picks for 10 drawings in advance so I don't forget. I would get them for e

Fla. man wins $35M lottery jackpot with computer software
Perseverance pays off for long-time Lotto player When Paul Hemphill picked the winning lottery numbers in 1995, he made just one mistake: He never bought a ticket. He didn't make that mistake twice. Two months ago, the 66-year-old retiree strolled into Hollywood Food Mart, plunked down $2 and walked away. Two days later, he was a multi-millionaire. The winner of the May 28 jackpot worth a hefty $35 million asked for the cash up front. After taxes, he pocketed more than $20 million.

The No-System System
If what you mean by profit margin is the odds of the game, the answer would be NO. Your winnings will be directly proportional to your bets. In PA a 50 Pick-3 straight win ticket pays $250, a $1 ticket pays $500. There are 1000 possibilites for each draw. Go figure!
