Lottery scam imitates popular sweepstakes
The fake lottery scam that has bilked residents of the Hudson Valley and elsewhere out of thousands of dollars, has now been expanded to capitalize on the name and reputation of Publishers Clearing House.

Dutch police said they had arrested 12 Nigerians in connection with an Internet scam in which emails were sent to Americans tricking them into investing in non-existent schemes.

2 more Jamaican lottery scam suspects brought to US
All of the 13 suspects arrested in what authorities believe is the first large-scale Jamaican lottery scam to be prosecuted in the U.S. have now entered pleas in federal court, with more than one-third of them admitting guilt or scheduled to do so.

Lottery ticket scam costs victim $19,000

Haines City police are looking for the pair who used the promise of a Florida Lotto payoff to scam a man out of $19,000.
According to investigators, they met the victim at a Family Dollar store. Police released surveillance video of the three men together.

Trial set to start for 3 people charged in $2M Hoosier Lottery scam case
A jury trial is scheduled to start Monday in the case of three people accused of trying to bilk the Hoosier Lottery out of $2 million.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry will handle the case.
In 2015, police arrested Jackie Parsley II, Joseph Parsley and Ashlee Campbell Parsley in connection with the scam. They're accused of falsely redeeming a lottery ticket from a Plainfield liquor store owned by a relative of Jackie and Joseph Parsley.
