A Digit out in a certain position
Thanks very much Tungsten chef ! Did not know about those .
Ofcourse 1 position digits are good because they cut down the odds at hitting a straight but..... I sure do hate catching them early. I know it is a 1 in 4 chance at finally getting one with a DOUBLE ....like in the case of WC's digit 1 last night ....181....but it's a cheap date way to track and hunt those bad boys. Plus .....better shot at a straight hit with a double with a 1 postion digit missing. Only one way with a double ...

Grading Lotteries
Maybe you remember a professor in Texas a while back did a survey the different lotteries across America, and graded them on certain merits (http://www.sacstat.org). However, the survey tended to focus on fairness, transparency, and overall idiot-proofing. There's nothing wrong with that, but there is more to a lottery's quality than just posting odds and recalling instant games when the top prizes are gone. The survey did not grade on the quality of the games offered, nor give enough emphasis o

My new invention (pick 3)
There were 3 tripples for mid, and 3 for eve for GA pick 3 now and back to a year.
It would cost $3,600 to cover 10 tripples for both mid eve for a year at $0.50 per number. 6 Tripples total prize at $0.50 bet = $1,500 for straight. Would have lost $2,100.
Since the objective is to get straight, then we just need to concentrate on the high percentage or the Normal Rhythm of the game, to our advantage, that's playing SINGLES. With the odds already agaisnt the players, we need to hold on to

Oklahoma Cash 5 / Pick 3 - Best Approach?
You would've won your own lottery had you saved all that money you spent on tickets. I don't believe in bigger is better i.e. the more you spend the better chance you have at winning. Even buying 11,000 tickets wouldn't get you anywhere near the first prize considering the odds. Better to place smaller bets but have a better strategy. Try checking my Pick 5/6 strings threads and see if that could help get you in the ballpark!

Combine MegaMillions & Powerball? take the poll
When Powerball aded Florida the odds jumped up considerably, if I remember right from 146 million to 1 to 194 million to one. That's with the addition of one state.
Whether you look at a combined MM / PB lottery as a 29 state game picking up 12 more states, or vice versa, I hate to think what that would do to the matrix.
I'd like to see some kind of nationwide lottery with wider payouts (more winners), but the lure of half a billion dollar jackpots and up is just something the lotteries us

Buying lottery tickets at Corp./District offices
I don't mess with scratch-ifs even though I have been at my favorite lottery playing convenience store on two occasions when two other patrons (at different times) had bought winning scratch-ifs in the amounts of $10,000 and $500 (the $500 winner happened last night as I was buying my pipe dream for the Mega Millions drawing).
Nor do I mess with Pick 3 or Pick 4 even though I have also been in stores where people came in to claim their P3 winnings (Straight P4 winners have to go to lottery of

Is there a way to get an average ...on a single digit skip
Thank you time*treat .... nice !
Perhaps a demo using this long out skipping digit #2 ( in all postions) as an example would help bring it home. That digit 2 on Ga. Eve..... is now out 15 days in all postions.
Odds of a single digit showing in one of 3 positions each time is..... 3/10 or 1 in 3.33 and so.... I think that ... ( with modification ) part is what we need here..... perhaps.
I remember a post ......sort of along these lines we all looked at a while back ....about the

Neb. lottery numbers drawn twice in row
It depends how you look at the odds. [semantics]
If you say 'What are the chances that 000 will hit tonight and tomorrow night?', That's 1:1,000,000 (1000*1000).
If you say 'Since 000 *already* hit last night, what are the chances that 000 hits tonight?', That's 1:1000.
If you say 'Since 000 *already* hit last night, what are the chances it will hit for the next 2 days [making 3 in a row]?', That's 1:1,000,000 (1000*1000 since the previous night has no bearing since it has already occu

Thanks Avlm...maybe I should..lol... and I didn't mention it but bought 2 five dollar topaz 7 cards last night and won $25 on one and $5 on the other one $5 on a dollar sweetheart cash dollar card...(that's the one that I won $100 on the other day).
It's mighty nice of NCEL to pay for my pick 3 tickets with the scratch ones...lol
I must be lucky because I looked at the odds of winning $100 on the sweetheart card and it's 1 in 3000....lol....I really think that having a mental picture of wi

Texas woman says friend stole winning lottery ticket
If you don't play you won't win.
What part of lottery is confusing? If you don't play, you can't lose your money.
Desperate times cause for drastic measures.
Trying to solve your financial problems by playing the lottery isn't desperate, it's stupid. For the most part, the odds of doing anything better than breaking even are at least 25 to 1, and the chance of winning enough money that it will matter is much, much higher. The not-so-desperate measures this woman should have been tak
