Does GOOSE Get your Goat?
He does get on my gander a bit. Is that an American expression too? Nothing sexist intended.I put his frequency of Posting down to wanting to have the Most Postings Record. With all the congratulations to the current record holder I think you may have spurred him on. I dare not say anthing political and hope others don't too as he obviously enjoys expressing himself if somewhat a little exubrently.GooseDon't be too offended; just moderate your rate of Posting to a reasonable level. Pa Match 6 Rolls 800,000 Cash
Quote: Originally posted by Lotto Czar on February 26, 2004 Yep it did and it is. We got ours. Match 6 question: Did anyone else notice that just about every Match 6 ticket has a number repeated? Is there a glitch in the RNG? or the odds that likely? I guess I can sit down and figutre it out, not sure how. A repeat chance is 1 less the chance of zero repeats, just have to figure out what are the chances of zero. Keno is the same way. Some state pay on zero matches, which is not very likel

What Are The Odds On Repeating Pairs...
Can anyone here tell me what the correct odds are against a boxed pair repeating for two or more consecutive draws? For those inexperienced players, an example of a boxed pair would be 23 = 32, 54 = 45, etc.If you are an experienced player, then the last statement does NOTapply to you, so you can safely ignore it, and forego flaming me for insulting your abilities as a prognosticator.Just wanted to make that clear. Now, my question is this: How often should we expect boxed pairs to repeat in two

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Last night, 2/13/04, the Megamillions jackpot rolled again and the jackpot is now $177 million dollars. The estimated increase in the Jackpot is 26 million annuity dollars. This suggests that the odds of the jackpot rolling over yet again are 72%, the odds of there being one winner are 24%, the odds of their being two winners are about 4%, three winners, 0.5%, and four winners 0.03%.The increase in the jackpot estimated is actually less than what was predicted for the previous $150 million d

How is it possible?
>>>so if he's WON 4 times in 1 week which is 4 out of 7 days he lost 3 days right? If my calculations are correct WIN D has done better than RANDOM ODDS by far and a hell of a lot better than a Quick-Pick would do.You see we're not trying to Prove you can make a profit (even though there are players that do)we just try to prove the Odds can be beaten or your chances can be increased for a WIN.<<<<I didn't ask about profit. If I picked a thousand numbers each day I would win

Best Games
I don't live in PA but I would have to say play the numbers. In Wisconsin we have a 5/31 daily game where the odds are 1:169,000. The jackpot has gotten up to $308,000 and the average jackpot is probably around $50,000 or $60,000. I look at some of the scratch-offs and see the odds on some of those are 1:400,000 and higher and the top prize is $20,000 or $30,000. My advice is to play the numbers if you have something similar in PA. The odds are lower and the jackpots are higher and with a Pick 5

Lottery odds
He only did half the computation. If the order in which the balls were drawn mattered, then he would be correct. But order doesn't matter. 01 02 03 04 05 06 is the same as 06 05 04 03 02 01. To get the right odds you have to find out the number of combinations for any given set of six numbers drawn and then divide that into the final number he came up with. Any given set of winning numbers has 720 combinations if order was taken into account. 6 X 5 X 4 X 3 X 2 X 1 = 720. So you take his number 1

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
The Big Game had much better odds than the MegaMillions, 80 million to 1 vs 130 million to one.Maybe you don't believe me, but I assure you that the MegaMillions will break 300 million several times more, unless it is changed. Indeed, it will probably break 400 million, possibly more. This was, in fact the reason for changing from Big Game to MegaMillions, to get eye-popping jackpots. As lotteries grow bigger and bigger, the size of the jackpot required for Lotto fever rises. Curti

Final Penn. Super 6 Lotto Drawing Tomorrow
Quote: Originally posted by tg636 on January 26, 2004 These games can't compete with the MM PB on jackpot now, they need something different and appealing. It doesn't do much for me to say 1 in 5 million odds are so much better than 1 in 135 million odds.tg, i totally agree,...just this past weekend I've decided to quit playing our single state Megabucks 6/49 and instead use the dollars I save from that game to buy Powerball 'Powerplay' option. It's sad saying goodbye to the old Megabucks gam

Quote: Originally posted by Zeno on January 22, 2004 The ODDS dictate that someone will HIT a jackpot if the odds are 22 million to 1, if 22 million tickets are sold then there's going to be a WINNER.Actually, that's not really correct. If the odds of winning are 1 in 22 million and 22 million tickets are sold, then the probability of there being no winner is approximately (1/e) or about 0.3679. So, about a 36.8% chance of there being no winner.Actually the probability of the lottery rolling o
