N.D. Lottery wrestles with credit card buying options
The original post that mentioned the matrix would definitely apply if another ball was added. For example, we have a game here that's sort of like PB but jackpots start at $500,000 and roll to $2 million max. There are 4 balls drawn and then 1 MegaMoney ball. If they added a ball, of course it would make a huge difference and it would be impossible to use the same tickets. I also know where you are coming from when you say it changes the odds, but I'm wondering if the ND lottery would credit

Cheating scratch-offs
mech You really have a 'tude, especially for someone from a state that doesn't even have lotto. Sorry, no one here is here to provide you videos. Did I say 20 tickets? I said the overall odds are for all of those tickets printed, not pack by pack. If you think it means per pack you're a perfect player for the lotto. Better yet, you prove to us you're right.

Cheating scratch-offs
The odds of rolling a 2 or 12 is 35 to 1 and casinos pay 30 to 1 so Craps is a good example of how casinos can create a house edge based on payoffs for individual random events. But scratch-off payouts are not based on random events and the house edge is already there when they print the tickets. They sell $10 million worth of tickets with a total payoff value of $6.5 million and make a 35% profit. The term cheating has been used but on many state lottery website they have charts showing the

Cheating scratch-offs
Odds of winning any prize overall are based on all the tickets of any given game, not each pack of tickets. What's being posted by some in this thread is the same thing as people who learn that there should be a 2 or 12 every 36 rolls of the dice, so they actually stand at a game and wait for 35 rolls to show and then bet snake eyes and box cars . You may not see a 12 for 144 rolls, and then see 4 of them back to back. Over the long haul there will have been one every 36 rolls, but never

Cheating scratch-offs
maybe on a good day that might happen but what if you bought three tickets in a row and they were winners somebody else comes in behind you and buys 20 tickets off the roll you just won on and their 20 tickets didn't win squat./ Don't believe for a minute that the odds of 1 in 4 are correct. You could by a roll of tickets say 100 dollars worth and only win 20 bucks total. Scratch offs aren't made to make people money they are designed to make the state money the few winners are a tease t

Even if 2 people hit, he or she can still break even after the cost of the project as long as the lottery is over 230Million and they don't choose the lump sum option. And remember, he or she doesn't really have to play 30,000,000 numbers if the odds of getting the winning ticket are 1:23,000,000 No millionaire would go for it unless the lottery was close to 300Million anyway. Like when jack whittaker won over 300Million. Lost it all in 4 years. Lives in an apartment now. Just a thou

Guesser is right, it was the Virginia lottery and since then there are rules about tying up terminals. There's a few flaws in the scenario in the OP: There's an assumption of a solo hit. Nothing can ever guaranteee one and only one winner. No one with $30,000,000 is going to risk it on a lottery. No state lottery is going to advertise false oods, all anyone has to know is the matrix (field of numbers to choose from) and how many you need to hit to win the jackpot and the rest is mat

Idaho woman hits fifth lottery jackpot in five years
Jarasan started a thread asking what we consider to be a jackpot and I thought of this news article when I read it. Did she win a jackpot 5 times? Yes, but what did the total add up to after years of playing? Hey, this lady is awfully lucky and I'd love to win even the one prize of $15,000 to catch up, but her 5 jackpots don't add up to one Fantasy 5 jackpot, and certainly not a Lotto win. Captain Lotto is absolutely right. Many of our members dream about hitting $100M in PB or MM but many

Is it worth buying a large number of tickets once a year?
There are probably many people that buy 10 Mega Millions or Powerball tickets twice a week hoping to catch a jackpot or a large secondary prize. Other people might wait until the jackpot reaches $100 million and their yearly lottery budget averages $20 a week. I doubt people using either strategy would stop playing for an entire year and bet it all on one drawing. You can justify spending $1000 on one drawing by saying it's the same as buying 20 tickets a week but if you're looking for MUCH b

Straight In Wc
I can't see another mirror number in a row. .. That would make 5 in a row. So... 94 looks weak Sat. There are 40 singles Mirrors and 10 mirror doubles ... thats 270 straights. It would be like getting 5 doubles in a row today if another mirror hit... odds wise yes? I just can't do another mirror today. On the other hand.... 47 and 97 are have to ....must plays aren't they? 447 774 347 247 174 745 879 574 795 973 179 In this situation.... Have seen a long out digit co
