Winning the Jackpot Prize
Rebeckah:Are you saying that odds have NOTHING to do with winning a jackpot lottery? I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you. For every jackpot winner, there are millions of losing tickets. I'd say lottery is ALL about odds. Why then would they even post odds? You think winning the jackpot is based on having faith in oneself? Hmmm, if you believe that, I have a bridge I can sell you.Miracles may happen to some person but with that price, there are million others who WON'T win.Pure and simp

Winning the Jackpot Prize
As of 10:55am, April 30th:5 of 13 voters per the above poll (that's almost 40%) KNOW for sure that they will win the JACKPOT lottery. Damn, those are good odds for our forum members in winning millions $$$$$.Now, jackpot games such as MegaMillions have odds of 1 in 135,000,000 in winng the jackpot. Even if you buy 10 tickets, the odds are still 1 in 13,500,000. Hmmm, based on the two statements above, can any of the 5 memebers who voted YES explain your logic. Again, please excuse my ignoranc

Do lottery systems really work?
Hopefully someday someone at this forum will win a big jackpot and the bragging rights on how to pick a winning combination. In the Ohio649P lottery I noticed that 58% of the winnings combinations were within perimeters that covered 55% of the 13,983,816 possible combinations, it that kind of edge that the system player is looking for to increase his chance of a win. With the payout at the lower level, even if a player beats the odds he will lose money unless he wins the jackpot. For example

Mega Millions getting boring
It is interesting that the jackpots have been hit well below the $500 million levels predicted, but I do not advocate making the absurd oddseven more absurd. I think it's better to spread the wealth, and you shouldn't let people whobeat the odds make the odds harder for everyoneelse. Who knows, the odds may even up when thejackpot goes above $500 million. I would take the cash if only because I don'tknow what shape the world will be in in 2029. Icare not a bit about maximizing my investments, but

Do lottery systems really work?
Quote: Originally posted by Thomas Covenant on February 18, 2003The systems I am refering to is the software that claims to be able to increase your odds of winning by predicting numbers. I agree that everything has a pattern. If you throw a handful of BB's on the floor it will form a pattern. But there is no way to predict what that pattern will be before you throw them. And which software is that? If you use any system, you improve your odds. IT doesnt mean you will win, it just means yo

Whats to be learned?
WIN DIf you are talking about pick3 numbers, then there is no mystery. When you consider any form the number (boxed) a winner then there are only 220 possible combinations and your odds of winning are changed from 1:1000 to 1:220 (That the reason a boxed hit pays less). If you pick 20 different numbers then your odds of a hit is 1:11 for each drawing. Every weekday there are more than 45 pick3 drawings somewhere in the US, so the odds are any group of 20 numbers will hit 4-5 times somewhere

New Twist-Old Game KY-xtra cash
KY has added a game within the pic3 called xtra cash. Supposedly you can win amounts up to $25,000. This is how it works...you buy a cash 3 ticket for 50 cents and ask for xtra cash for 50 cents or a dollar...(some computer generates 3 seperate numbers that go on the bottom of your ticket)..if one of your numbers matches one of the computer generated numbers, you win the dollar amount beside it. You can collect before the draw. Personally...I think it is a rip off. If you play all odds...

Question Re: lottery odds
It donesn't seem like buying 2 tickets would improve your chances that much but look at the math. Say you have 1 ticket. Your odds are 1 in 135,000,000 or 1/135,000,000. If you buy two tickets your odds are 2 in 135,000,000 or 2/135,000,000. If you reduce that you do get 1/67,500,000. But if you look at it the other way there are 135,000,000 different combos in the game. If you buy two tickets there are still 134,999,998 combos left so how are you odds cut by so much. I will ask my math t

Texas 122 Predicted to hit
Texas midday hasn't had their rightful number of pure all evens or odds. The 10 all evens and 10 odds mean that 120 numbers have been missing for over a month on the midday. They can't hide 12% of their picks much longer. Midday hasn't had an all even since Nov.1st. 860. The biggest absence is the all odds. None since Sept. 28 with 539. On average, Tx should have expected one of these to hit every 9 days. Approx. Now it is 108 days without an odd.....and 78 without an all even. So Texas has it

our chances are NIL
Harley Boy,Your stated odds are for jackpot games. Everyone who plays obviously know the steep odds, so there's nothing new there. Any talk of a tax on the poor doesn't cut it with me.The odds for the other games, although also steep, are not as bad. In fact, several people on this forum have done quite well for themselves. I'm happy to say that I myself am in the black for Pick 3, thanks to the advice of people like Lucky. You should quit while you're ahead with comments about which social
