our chances are NIL
The chances of winning by buying one ticket or buying 100 tickets are virtually the same. I know some people say buying one ticket the odds are 1:120,526,770, and buying two tickets the odds are 1:60,263,285. That's not the right way to look at it. The odds are calculated by how many different combinations you can have. Buying two tickets doesn't make 60,000,000 combinations disappear. Better way to look at it is if you buy 100 tickets is you have 100 chances to win and 120,526,670 chances to lo

Pick 5 - Gauranteed 6th #
In a lotto draw combination of 6 balls, 1 though 49, having the ability being guarantted a sixth number can make a huge difference in the odds to win.I think it is something like instead of 1 in 14 million, your odds improve to something like 1 in 1 million - 14x times better odds of winning two times weekly...Why would a person continue buying 6 number system tickets and working probability of averaging and weighted curves when you can eliminate 13 million probabilities with one swoop? Michigan Challenge Day 11
sedertree, thank's for setting me straight . even though i don't understand exactly how these games work, i fully realize that your picks are ahead. personally, i like being behind . i always like the odds against me. the higher and longer the odds are, the better. i am not predicting anything here, but it would be funny (at least to me) if i came from behind to win the challenge with my random picks. we still have alot of month to go yet. anyway i have a question. since your first n

The Challenge
As I see it, Sedertree is not saying he can predict the next numbers to come up, but that he has a system of picking numbers that will beat the odds and make money. Like a skilled poker or blackjack player, he knows the deck of cards and only so many results are possible, so he can play with odds slightly in his favor.Pick3 drawings may be random, but there are only 1000 possible outcomes and if you are playing boxed combination, there are only 220 possible outcomes. He not predicting numbers,

When I read you post, I thought you were saying that you had found a website which had a 6/42 game which payed $40+ if you matched 2 of 6 which has 1:6 odds. When I checked the website I found they had 3/42 game which payed $400+ if you matched 3 of 3/6 with odds of 1:11480 which is lot different than I got from your post. Most US lottery states has a pick3 lottery game with 1:1000 odds which pay $500 on $1 bet if you match 3, so I doubt if any Americans would be interested those games. In your

I was wondering....which odds are better....
On the news releases for Mega Millions they said that 10 people came extremely close of getting the jackpot by matching the 5 white balls. But what if you had 4 white balls and the Mega Ball. Aren't you extremly close there. I mean if you have all five white balls there are 52 combos with each of the Mega Balls. But if you have 4 white balls and the mega ball there is like only 48 combos so aren't you still pretty darn close? Why is there such a difference in the odds? I might be rambling here b

odds are odds....regardless of coincidences
you want the real odds? it doesn't matter how many tickets you buy. if it is your turn (some people know what i mean by that), then it you are the next big winner. with a game like mega-millions at 1 in a 135 million odds, it never seems to amaze me how people will throw 50, 100 , 200 dollars when there is a large jackpot THINKING it will increase their odds. one dollar will suffice. anything else is a waste of money. but some people have money to waste ........visiondude

Testing a Lottery program
if someone can prove that lottery balls have memory and therefore history (they don't). and they can also prove that lottery balls have the capability of communicating with each other (they can't), then you might be able to make a case for a system . otherwise it is purely RANDOM. try as you might, no one will ever come up with a way to beat the odds. the odds will always be the same even if you spend an entire lifetime trying to figure out the mathematical equations. i don't mind people ha
