Gambling addict is suing B.C. Lottery Corporation
Well, it sounds as though this woman has been VERY successful in her business life -- she obtained hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to have lost them via gambling thus far. Maybe the cure is for her to absorb herself in the work that she is successful in; a distraction from going to gambling organizations where she loses much money. Maybe she could develop a DAILY habit that distracts her for hours of time when she is outside of her business, one that doesn't cost much though. I don

Is the Millionaire Raffle ADM Hacker Proof?
I would be suprised if any lotteries or online gambling sites are using software only pseudo random number generators. I would expect them to use some type of hardware assisted random number generators. But you never know some companies/states are not very smart and might make poor decisions in order to save money. As a side job in the past I created custom membership web sites for clients. They go thru the process of getting a merchant account, which gives them the ability to take credit car

Seven arrested in underground lottery sting
Seven people are facing felony bookmaking charges after authorities say they were operating an illegal lottery out of four markets in San Pablo and Richmond, California. Authorities say the lottery was broken up after a sting operation led by the California Lottery's Security and Law Enforcement Division. Investigators say the seven suspects sold homemade tickets to buyers who were placing bets on numbers in an actual California Lottery game. Lottery spokesman Bill Ainsworth says though

Which states and lottery games will you play once online gambling is legal?
We've had this debate before, and the same old excuses are getting old, or older I should say. First, I don't buy the security BS either. But even If that were the case, they could have one person in charge with the machines in a room with the combination to the lock. Period! And again, if you were correct, and that was their final decision to do it the way they are doing it.....then show us the PRE-TEST RESULTS!!!!! I can hear the excuse now...c'mon....I can smell them.... There wil

765 follows 777? What about 897?
If you read the post 777? You'll know that Laverne and a couple of other LP members confirmed that 765 usually follows 777. Well the same man that told me 765 usually follows 777 in less than 17 days just told me that 897 also follows 777. So, I'm back asking the same question I did about 765. Does 789 follow 777 in less than 17 daysand if so, if one falls does the other fall or is it just one out of the two? P.S. I wish there was a away to just take this man to lunch, but with s

California Lottery cancels 'Millionaire' TV show
The state government wanted to borrow $5 billion from the lottery? Is this the same state government that handles money so well that they're going bankrupt? Whoa, deja vu all over again. That's where our social security trust fund went. The government borrowed it. It's now about empty and full of worthless IOU's from the government which is now looking for new places to borrow money for it's massive spending sprees. As far as the TV shows I've always thought the lotteries ought to just

Paid In Lottery Tickets
Why does it matter to you how much it costs him to pay you a fixed amount? What matters is the value to you, and whether or not it's a voluntary choice. If you were being paid $500 and that changed to $495 and 5 $1 lottery tickets that you were going to buy anyway, you'd still be taking home at least the same amount. It's more complicated than that, though, because you've overlooked further savings to the employer and the actual value to you. The lottery tickets would be a materials expense t

Indiana man says store cost him $11.5M lottery jackpot
I think reviewing the video tape if there is any could be the clue, as well as the playslip that was signed by him. I'm a bit confused though, the article is confusing in that it doesn't state whether his playslip acutally HAD the winning numbers circled in, or just his Andrew's thoughts that those numbers would have been hit had be been given an actual ticket. In any case, I think it should be mandatory to post terminal hours, that way people can take their business elsewhere if they need t

Virginia man claims $200M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Regarding anonymity, this is from Virginia's lottery site: Can I remain anonymous when I claim my lottery winnings? No. Winners often ask if they can claim Lottery prizes anonymously. Virginia state law stipulates that a person must claim a prize; winners cannot claim a Virginia Lottery prize with a limited liability company or a trust, for example. In addition, the claimant s name, hometown and prize are public record and are released to the media (usually for prizes $100,000 and up). Win
