N.C. Powerball lottery winner had to disconnect phone
Count Roxboro, North Carolina, resident Willie Scott among the fans of the still-growing North Carolina Education Lottery. Of course, it helps that Scott still is counting his money. It's great, said Scott, who recently won $800,000 in a Powerball drawing. It's the best thing because a lot of money was going out of state, but now that money is staying in the state to help with education. Even with big winners such as Scott claiming life-altering prizes, the lottery has generated

Celestial coordinates, moon phases and lottery numbers
Hi Karnac: Thanks for the post. Sounds as though you had the moon-phase part of things down, maybe as pat as it can get. I can see how it got your head swimming, though. Does it to me, even using Excel. On this phase of testing I've had to drop the celestial coordinates portion of things until I see where things are going. The moon phase is running, but only because of the coincidence of 1995 July moon this quarter is only two days off the 2006 phase, which is handy. It allows me to l

The 21 Pairs
I like to play and use an online Lottery casino... because of the 900 to 1 odds in Pick 3, and 9000 to 1 odds in Pick 4, and also having access to the many different state games even though I am in Canada. I tease and amuse myself to feel like a winner by going after boxed Pick 3 bets only so far, and I only hope to win many or most of the 72% of the games where all three numbers drawn are unique and different from each other...no doubles or triples, however, I do bet every game, so th

a sorta stupid question for the math type
This chart is interesting (and correct) but meaningless. It only tells you how many other combinations are available if balls are drawn and reported in numerical order. For those of you that do not know what this chart means, for example, if the number 23 is the 3rd ball drawn (in numerical order, not actual draw order), there are only 121,968 other posible combinations in the 1-5 positions, mega ball not included. The real odds from here (23 in 3rd spot is 121,968*46=5,610,528). If balls we

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
before you tell us the MM is 'Measly' compare the MM and PB jackpots and consider taking a remedial math course. The measly millions nonsense has been tired for a while already, and MM is growing at about the same per-drawing rate as PB. For their 18th drawings in the current run (as far as PB has gotten so far) PB is offering $115 million (in actual cash) while MM offered $120.4 million. As for a remedial math course, it probably wouldn't help you, but if it did you might actually lea
