The Fireball pretty much works the same in all the various states that have implemented it. First of all, the Fireball doesn't count for anything unless you purchase it. Just like how the Megaplier in Mega Millions is worthless to you unless you buy it. When you have purchased the Fireball option on your ticket, the Fireball number drawn can replace any one of the other numbers drawn to help you win a prize.
