Why Do Mathematicians Consider The Lottery Random
Htime. owever, you are MORE LIKELY to lose, because playing that many numbers will result in the house edge slowly wearing down your bankroll over
Joker said he's playing 65% of the numbers not drawn in one pool and probably in a state that just started a pick-4 game. It's obvious that in a year or two that well will run dry and he'll do something different. You're talking about the house edge as if it's something nobody heard of it.
I'd think your friend would be better off not playin

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Have you ever thought about wheeling some numbers to win a SM JP? Why not try wheeling SM numbers? I mean The State of New York says SM offers the best odds of winning a million dollars in any online jackpot game. And that's true. Go ahead and check the other states websites, you wont find an online JP game with odds as good as SM's. So maybe wheeling numbers with SM is a good idea, right?
I've thought about using a wheel, but I cant afford it. Here's why;
If I wheeled 9 numbers, it'd cost

How do you know if your Lottery System is getting better ?
How can you POSSIBLY even THINK the lottery is a scam?
They display the odds very clearly, and every one of us here knows the odds, it is not a scam whatsoever.
What do you want it to be? one in three odds of winning 100 Million dollars?
Are you out of your mind?
Listen, we ALL know the odds, I don't think any one of us truly EXPECTS to win, but playing the lottery is NO DIFFERENT than betting on a trifecta at a horse race (albeit with much higher odds), we play this GAME as a SPORT,

Is it true...?
To cover every line wouldnt you have to pay the amount the odds are (in which case you'd be spending almost $200 million)?
Yes, you'd need to buy every combination, which is the same as the odds. The incident mentioned happend many years ago in VA (IIRC), and was for a state game that had odds that are much lower than today's big jackpot games. It wasn't tremendously unusual for those games to build up to the point that the cash payout substantially exceeded the odds. I forget the details,

$330 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot nears record high
No, no, no.
The odds for 1 ticket is 1 in 175,711,536. The 1 is the 1 ticket and the 175,711,536 are the number of possibilities.
The odds for 5 tickets is 5 in 175,711,536. Note the 5 is the 5 tickets, but the number of chances does not change, only the number of tickets purchased.
Now then, odds are essentially fractions. The 1 in 175,711,536 can be written as 1 over 175,711,536, or 1 divided by 175,711,536.
So the 5-ticket purchase is 5 over (or divided by ) 175,711,536. To get th

Define A System That Works...
This needs clarification...
Take a Box bet for P3. Odds are 1:166 for a str8 set. If you win more than once in 166 plays (bets) you beat the odds.
The odds for a Straight win are 1:1000. The odds for a Box win are 1:166. ( 1000/6 )
However, in PA a winning $1 Box ticket only pays $80.00, so you must do some SERIOUS selecting, or be extremely LUCKY to make money in this game over time. 80-166 equals an $86 LOSS over 166 $1 plays. In PA, you must win more than 2 Box bets in 166 plays to

Pick4: Which One you Prefer: $2,000 (1 in 200 odds), or $2,500 (1 in 10,000 odds)..
I THOUGHT SO...I dont specialize in Pick4...But i am thinking the following...Many go for the Pick4: STRAIGHT OPTION which i am very fuzzy about but i think it pays: $5,000 and after taxes is what is it?? $2,5000 but the problem is that the odds are: 1 in 10,000.....
However a Box wheel has: 200 combinations or 210 combinations, dont remember and if you get the numbers boxed you get: $200....But $10 x $200 = $2,000 without tax....Is the SAME THING AS PLAYING A: Pick4 STRAIGHT COMBINATION FOR

A question about lotto system odds
When playing just a few lines, I simply run through them to make certain that there's no smaller number combinations shared by any two of the numbers so that I know that I'm getting a wide a field as possible with those few tickets. If the minimum prize is for a three number match then I make certain that there are no three number sequences shared by all the lines. With a pick 6 game out of a field of 49, each line is one of 49C6 combinations and unless you bought the exact same numbers, there's

Listings of Jackpot > odds?
But why include taxes? everyone pays taxes, no?
I took taxes into account because they determine how much you actually get. You're balancing risk and reward, and the point at which they're equal is when buying every combination would result in breaking even by recovering what was spent. In other words, buying all 175,711,536 combinations by spending $175,711,536 would win back the $175,711,536 that was spent. Of course much of the money is returned to players in the form of smaller prizes,
