Letting Someone Else Claim My Powerball Winnings
If indeed it is only $400, (and I just checked the Maine website and believe the $400 is the correct amount) you should be able to claim without filing any forms, thus no reports to gov't. agencies. Go to a lottery retailer and ask if they can cash a $400 ticket. Bet they can. Don't let the naysayers in this thread get you down. I've seen several threads here that they play Pick 3 on different tickets so the winnings won't go over $600 and they won't have to report and be taxed on the winn

New York Lottery won't pay $25,000 for taped-up scratch-off ticket
Thank you Madmaxxx for chiming in. I sincerely thought it was a rare occurance to have tickets sliced incorrectly, but it DOES happen. My ten dollar ticket proved it over the weekend. The lady that came to the dispenser machine to undo the half eaten ticket said Sure hope thats a winner because it was stuck in there and sliced up nicely! ...Reality was..it was a 20$ winner from the ten dollar ticket. And yes the cashier walked me up to the redemption counter so there wouldnt be any misunderstan

Heads Up: Latest Scam
Have you seen the Commercial where a guy sits down next to a woman on a bus and gives her the same type of spiel? The guy is dressed like a bum and I believe he shows her a crimpled check from a foreign bank and asks to use her account to cash it. The idea is that if these scams were presented in person, people wouldn't even blink an eye and walk away. Both Yahoo and MSM ask for name and address when getting an email address so that alone should be enough to know they are not part of rando

Will the Michigan Lottery shut down tomorrow?
If the Michigan government shuts down because legislators are unable to agree on a new state budget, the Michigan Lottery will suspend operations at the end of the business day on Sunday. All lottery ticket sales, validations and prize payments will be suspended. Drawings will be held for tickets sold prior to the shutdown. Players with advanced wagers will be able to check their numbers in newspapers and on the Lottery Post Web site, www.lotterypost.com/results/mi. Players with winning ti

You Hit The Lottery - Spouse plans to work Full Time Still
If a doctor told you you had six months to live, do you like your job so much you'd keep workoing? (We're not talking finances here, just job like or dislike). I wouldn't, Coin Toss, but some people might be working on a special project. If I were an actor or director, maybe I'd want to finish the film. If I were a composer, artist or novelist, maybe I'd want to finish my final work. This might be off topic a bit, but I worked with a woman in her 80s who was financially well of

In the ongoing quick picks discussions...
As for PB and MM and systems players, know anyone who has won consistently? Know anyone who hits 5 + 0 consistently? posted by Coin Toss I suspect if such a player existed, there would be an investigation to see if he had friends or family members connected to the drawings or had a way of hacking the terminals after a drawing to produce a winning ticket. No one would believe a system could do that even with thousand of tickets. Even having several 5+0 winners in a short period of tim

POLL 2 of 3: Switching to computerized drawings
As we saw in Pennsylvania a few years ago, ball drawings can be rigged and getting caught was probably the only thing preventing them from trying it again. But this was done to benefit individuals and not the PA lottery. Getting caught was the best the best thing to happened for ball drawings because it set up additional security procedures and protocols where by the lottery's conducts live mechanical drawings. Those procedures cant be checked as easily with RNG drawings as i don't know

Info On RNG'S
Chuck wrote: There are independent auditors and independent oversight and no cheat can be accomplished without involving multiple partners. That has already been proven not to be the case. TN's third party programmer made a mistake. It was caught by no one. Every so-called security measure failed. The multiple tests and testers we hear so much about did not notice the program was not putting out doubles? I would think that would be the 2nd or 3rd thing to check on the list of things tha

Info On RNG'S
Computers are not normally TRUE-random, but they can be set up to be truly random. There are a dozen RNG's operating at lotteries now that are TRUE-random machines. They contain a radioactive element and the seed is taken from random decay. That said, the Pseudo-RNG machines out there are still far good enough for a lottery drawing. Lotteries are a double-random process anyway since the player number is random (okay Pseudo-RNG since picked by humans or the RNG in the terminal). As for
