Maybe this could work: Just trying to help. LP could win Jackpots
pumpi didn't you also state your reason why there should be as many generic powerballs as possible because the population would support it? you gave this as your reason below...
You get 30,000 people who make very good money [wealthy people]....and make each of them contribute 200 dollars a paycheck...30,000 x 400 = 12 million....12 million x = 8.5 months = 102 million dollars....[8.5 is equivalent to 8 months 2 weeks]....102 million dollars that could be raffled or created a lottery amo

6/49 predictions for Canada, US, Spain and UK
Interesting criteria. And a strange coincidence that last Saturday both Western 649 and Canada 6/49 draws had 3 and 4 numbers in the 40s.
The results of my prediction lists were very different for those 2 games: the list for Western 649 was quite rich: although I didn't catch any 6 or 5+B sets, I got the odds improved ~200% for 5 (sub)sets, and ~150% for 4 sets and 3 sets.
The list for Canada 6/49 was very poor: the odds were 0% for 6, 5+B, and 5 sets, and dramatically decreased for 4 sets

Exactly!!!
And when you add statistical analysys and duplicate checking - your chances of winning are vastly increased. I do not know the formula but will look it up this week.
My initial guess is you subtract the odds down from the number of tickets played to get the new odds of winning the jackpot.
So for the 649 games with odds 1:13,983,816 - buying 1000 tickets would change the odds of winning to 1: 13,982,816.
But the real question is how to you quantify the filtering processes

GIGABALL, with average jackpots of over a BILLION dollars, but the odds to match?
Imagine this: A national lottery is rolled out.
A lottery with a starting jackpot of $200,000,000. Now that's a *starting* jackpot of $200 million, and it will only grow from there.
You see, in this lottery game you select 5 white balls from 1 to 99. You then select one Gigaball from 1 to 29.
You then have 1 in 2,074,171,176 odds of winning the jackpot. Just like other big jackpot games, there are other prizes too, ranging from a small prize for matching just the gigaball to something l

Countdown to Powerball in Florida
I just picked up the pamphlet the Florida Lottery has on Powerball at the stores. The odds are off the charts. Makes me wish I had purchased more Millionaire Raffle tickets. I realize this has been discussed already, but seeing everything spelled out for me in a brochure about the game makes me wonder why I'd play PB instead of Lotto or FL Mega when the odds of winning even the second prize are higher than other Florida games I haven't won. Still, if your dream is to win a huge jackpot, you prob

Tonight's Fla. Lotto drawing first to let players increase jackpot
I disagree .

What a nice way for Florida to fatten lottery reserves and their coffers. It sounds good for lottery players but its not.
Because while spending the extra dollar or two it will add to the jackpot win if (rememember the BIG IF ) you win the jackpot. However this new method of spending an extra buck or two does not alter your odds of hitting that jacpot the odds of winning

Which gives me a better chance of winning a lottery?
Sorry for the silly answer, but that's the way I often feel. What game are you talking about?
JW, you said the lottery so I assume you mean a jackpot game. If you have a game like PB with odds of 1 in 146,107,962 and you buy 100 tickets, there are still 146,107,862 combinations that might be picked. Of course the more tickets you buy, the better your odds are of winning and also getting a few numbers for a lesser prize. You can look at the history and try to eliminate previous winni

Study ranks Missouri lottery as ninth best in U.S.
If my math serves me correctly, $360 million divided by 4 equals $90 million...so what difference does it make to play all the time vice just when it gets super huge?
The Texas students believe it's necessary to put the game odds on back the ticket like at a race track where the odds of the horses and dogs are put on the tote board. I don't know why because the odds of winning are exactly the same whether the jackpot is $12 or $360 million. And what you're playing for is always an estimate

Which is the Smarter Bet?
Captain Lotto, I know we all have our personal opinions, but you wrote
It's also important to remember that your odds don't improve by buying more tickets. The odds are the same for every ticket you buy.
Yes, the odds are the same for each ticket, but your individual chances of winning increase if you have 10 tickets instead of 1. You do only have 10 chances out of 7,777 but with a raffle, someone is going to win and a limited amount of tickets are sold. With a jackpot game like PB or
