Texas Lottery suspends sales of Monopoly Millionaires' Club game
The concept behind this game was not bad. I am personally attracted to a game that offers greater odds at a $1M prize vs astronomical odds at a $100M+ PB or MM prize (that you'll never ever win). This game tries to be too much. If it is modified it may be able to make a comeback. They need to ditch the Las Vegas show and use those funds to pay more million dollar prizes. Start and cap the top prize at $5M (fixed payout, no annuity) and make it much easier to win (1 in 30M vs 1 in 72M). Us

Texas Lottery suspends sales of Monopoly Millionaires' Club game
While I don't think the lottery playing public is stupid, many players just don't want to spend a lot of time and effort on understanding and playing any given game. IMHO, that's why QP's are the choice of the vast majority of players. QP's are fast and easy. People buy whatever it is they want at the convenience store and tell the clerk Gimme a quick pick for tonite's lotto and they're out the door and on their way. This MMC game is way too complicated. People understand raffles. Wh

Monopoly Millionaires game
I believe there are other MMC threads where I have addressed the issue of the raffle numbers, but I'll go ahead and restate some things. Indeed, every state (or more correctly, vendor) maintains their own file. This is simply because not all lotteries use the same vendor(s). They transfer this to MUSL's centralized servers via a secure connection, and it's pretty much automated. Except in cases where there is an exuberant level of sales, they will know the winners about 10 minutes after the d

Monopoly Millionaires game
I've bought 4 tickets total since the beginning of the game. I'll continue to play it occasionally despite the lousy odds. Overall, the Monopoly game feels like a rip-off. Winning a Vegas trip is ok, but there's seemingly no guarantee of play - or maybe there is in a mini-game for lesser prizes?... but for how much?... Seems strange the exact details of the game show part still hasn't been publicly released. I contacted the PA Lottery, and even they don't know / won't release the details - th

Monopoly Millionaires game
Oh I realize my comments on the odds were all after the fact ! I am glad for the 14 big winners triggered by the jackpot win. I would assume their raffle-style wins are a lottery first in terms of multi-state games in the U.S. I noticed a few interesting tidbits: Since Florida and New York each got three winners, looking at the codes, in each case two of the tickets only differ in their last four digits. I assume then the codes numbers are sequential? Also, while last week the number

Monopoly Millionaires game
Well I guess this goes in the ya never know category. Now, someone here can correct me if I'm wrong, but the past year or so there have been some highly unusual jackpots won in Powerball and (before the MegaBall numbers were reduced to 15), MegaMillions. There is at least one Powerball jackpot I can recall where there was a jackpot winner and NO other tickets matched the first 5 white balls. That's jack crazy! There were I think at least 2 other jackpots in those games where there was a winne

MONOPOLY Millionaires club
Just called the hot line for Michigan. The representative was very nice helpful. (Forgot to ask her name) My question: Millionaire's Club Number and How is it selected? . The good news is, the Club number is NOT a computer generated random number. It will be an actual number that is on one of our tickets so when this extra drawing occurs, there really are 10 winners. Same as a raffle. So....If MI 5351-0005-4009 was on the list, it would have been me. LOL!!! P.S. As of today, it's

MONOPOLY Millionaires club
Here's an extensive thread/poll about the game: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/279345/ Anyway, yes, it will be an ongoing deal. There will be 18 episodes of the game show taped in the first 4 months of 2015. My guess is that they will stick with the game for at least a year since many states aren't joining until spring. I've heard that they plan to re-evaluate the game and its jackpot cap based on sales, interest, etc. after all the others have begun participating. There are models/estima

Poker star Phil Ivey loses casino case in Britain
How is that not cheating? The deck was not defective and the game is dealt using several decks. Ivey never touched the cards so basically you're accusing him of cheating because the casino was dumb enough to grant him requests that gave him a distinct advantage? The judge said going forward in the future a casino in the U.K. can be ignorant and should a player come in and win money off them using a new method, the casino doesn't have to be accountable for their ignorance at all, Jacobson
