What's harder than hitting a Trip???
Getting 4 doubles in a row..that's what!
The odds of hitting a trip are 1%
So you can expect to get 3.65 trips a year on a 365 draw game.
The probability of getting 4 doubles in a row is 1/2 per cent.
You would be lucky to see more than 1 or 2 times a year !
or
You could be unlucky .....and get 4 in a row on Ga Midday today

$320 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot goes through the roof
I will have my ticket for this drawing but only a few dollars. The jackpot when it reaches this level becomes more of a fantasy than usual, even though the odds remain the same. It's more money than most can comprehend and frankly more than anyone really needs. Most of the money would probably remain in the bank earning interest unless you just go out and blow it all, which would take some effort, unless you're buying art in the millions of dollars range.
What would I do with the money? That

Nice Nice! I had 494 wheeled x5 ! Went a little nuts on Mon morning and bet a three day mid/eve spread of numbers in P3 and P4 ( ending today) that cost me $200 ! 449 and 499 were two of the doubles I had my eye on, and the beauty of the half priced Wheel on doubles inspired the multiple bets. In case the IRS is watching, I'll cool my winnings talk after this, but I have to say that after some ugly dry spells, I've been blessed with hits totaling just shy of 5Gs since late Feb! Do some number combinations have better odds?
I expected you to at least...
Why? Why would you expect me to alter the https://random.org/ output?
...and proved getting a small win isn't easy...
Proved? You won't find words like easy and hard in a proof.
What Ronnie316 and I demonstrated tonight is that in a game where the odds against winning ANYTHING are about 39 to 1, it's not unusual to play 90 lines with nary a hit! And it didn't seem to matter how the numbers were selected, did it?
Hopefully, what was learned is that

Gail Howard/ Powerball tips & strategy...
For any lottery software that gives you combinations to play, you must first determine whether or not the program is capable of predicting a winner.
Start with a fresh draw not entered into the data base that is well balanced, that looks normal rather then extreme.
See if there is any thing you could have done that results in the program picking that combination among those it suggests you play.
If the program can't predict a known winning combination by any means necessary, th

Gail Howard/ Powerball tips & strategy...
I would suggest sticking with a format or two and staying with it. I would change your numbers according to odds/even trends and up and down from previous numbers.
Some formats might be:
s-s-t-30-40 21 times this format has happened since 97 average 1.3x a year
s-t-20-30-40 46 times since 1997 average 2.9 times a year
T-T-20-30-40 25 times since 97 average 1.6 times a year
T-20-30-30-40 30 times since 97 average 1.9 times a year
Just some food for thought.

It now appears certain that Megamillions will go 6 months...
True enough.
If one plays by expectation value - and I very much doubt that many people do - Powerball can be a better bet. But, of course, the Powerball annuity jackpot needs to be more than twice as large (annuity) for that to happen.
(Recall that the expectation value is the likely prize - adjusted for the probability of there being more than one winner - divided by the odds times the cost of the ticket.)
What Powerball can almost never do - unless it goes to a billion dollars annuit

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
The Rolling Cash5 1 in 9 means 11.1% of all the combinations match at least 2 numbers and if QPs are sold like raffle tickets, 63,973 tickets will match at least 2 numbers for every 575,757 tickets they sell. It also means if you purchase 18 QPs every day for a week, you should average 2 wins per day. Of those 14 wins , you'll probably match 2 numbers 13 times and have one 3 number match and a net loss.
It's the losing tickets that drag you down.
If the 1 in 9 ratio is the best you can g
