$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase
Yea I know, I can post doozies as far as posts go. You see. while I understand that incentitives can be used for advertising purposes, I also think that giving free plays for multi-State games if it is not coordinated across the board for all member States, it does sway, and change the fairness of the multi-state games. For example States on average get to keep some 65% of all ticket sale prices, and 35% or $0.65 (or $1.30 for megaplier, and $ 1.30 and $1.95 for power ball power up) is kep

Mega Millions fever sweeps nation as jackpot hits $540 million
Sirbrad, It's all about greed. Philanthropic intentions or not. Every thing on this site. Everyone who's here. We ourselves (you, me, everyone who's played) have devalued the grand prize because of severe greed, making it so big with all these tickets in play. I'm guessing there'll be more than one 1st prizer (20 first prizers minimum). The odds have been over-lapped several times (176 million to 1). Just 6 hours to go now. $640 million. That's a hum-dinger of a prize. I'm wan

This Big MEGA
This Current MEGA is HUGE (and all the articles say it is a record). I am assuming everyone here will be playing. My question is how will you be playing? A lot of quick picks? Your own special Numbers? A combination of both methods? My one method of play is usually ten dollars of quick picks and when over 100 million another ten with mainly cold numbers . One thing I have noticed with quick picks (at least in my case) -- I either have most (if not all the numbers) -- just never on t

$241 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery frenzy ramps up
LMAO---let's be clear here---this is what he's really saying: But I accept that as a lib, you think we should be like a big commune and everybody should be raising everybody else's kids and all that so whatever. At some point for him, because of some past comments on this site, this became a POLITICAL conversation, which people of the same POLITICAL persuasion are piling on on agreeing with. I should think the odds of a story about a trip to a convernience store to buy some lotto tickets

How to calculate these types of probability?
I analysed some of pick 3 and noticed that if things would go well, you would pay a lot of tickets and you would get just a bit over break even. If the case doesn't come out, you lose big money. The only interest that I had in pick 3 is working out odds and tables in Excel. Again, if I consider that you could win a pick 3 by some method, get break even consistently, then you might double your money at roulette. That I would do! Technical problems like wheeling can be solved. Printing on

New to Scratchers!
Welcome aboard. You are only seeing 1 month worth of posts. I think alot of people keep posting in messages that were previously started, so there isn't many new topics over the month. Look right above the top row of the message board. YOu should see a drop down to change from 1 month to anything greater or less. I think alot of people buy $20 tickets cause of the return. You buy a handful and you should see 50% back or so. With the $2 scratchers they are hit or miss. I know with me if I buy

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Okay, I'll bite. How many combinations out of 175,000,000 does it take to get to 1 in 1,000? There's no magic fractions at work here. Reducing fractions to lowest terms is a perfectly valid method of restating the same number. Another way of restating the number is in decimal form: 175,000 / 175,000,000 = 0.001 = 0.1% 1 / 1,000 = 0.001 = 0.1% Maybe I have misunderstood you all along, but I thought your issue was that reducing the fractions gave people an unwarranted psychological boos

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
CT This is funny, The odds for the game never change unless the matrix changes. The persons chances increase with each ticket purchased. Buying one ticket gives you a much better chance than not buying a ticket and having more than one is even better. Chances of hitting a lower prizes improve with with every ticket purchased unless you play the same numbers. I don't believe in prediction per-say but there are many things a person can do to build a smarter set. If-or-and are three
