What Is Your Real Profession??
I totally agree. I've had friends who've consistently bragged about an occasional win, but when i ask them how much they've spent, they flat out lie. I have a friend right now who spends about 15 bucks a day on p-3, p-4 and Fantasy 5. He occasionally wins a boxed bet and rejoices. The most annoying part is when he doesn't win, (98 precent of the time) he'll proclaim he had a feeling that number was going to come out and/or that he played it just a few days earlier. I can understand that ha

How are odds calculated?
Any given 5-number combination can be drawn in 120 different orders, hence the 1*2*3*4*5 divisor, and the true odds of 1::575,757. For instance, if 01-02-03-04-05 were to be the result of the drawing, the order of the draw could have been 03, 01, 04, 02 and 05; 02, 01, 03, 05 and 04; or any of the other 118 orders available for this set of numbers. Close Calls
At work we had a game where everybody picked 10 numbers, and everybody would throw in money. When the drawing would come up, you if the numbers came up you would scratch off your number. Whoever got all 10 numbers scratched off would get the money. Well I did win $600 on that deal. But I compared my 10 numbers against 10 of somebody elses numbers we had 9 of 10 numbers matched between our numbers. Now what are the odds of that???? MarkP

Oklahoma: 9/1 - 9/30/2009
Not only are they computerized, I think there might be a little cheating going on, because the odds are out of wack...when a number comes up in doubles several times in a row....come on, I would be more likely to be hit by a falling star... I also beleave monies that are spent on education should be better spent....more money should go to grades pre-k through 12, they need to bring back more sports, gymnastics, swimming....How about good ole field trips, where children can experience their wo

How long do you stick to a system?
I agree with thegee as this describes the ideal system. Knowing what you've done to get where you've arrived is well over half the battle. Doing drastically different things each time you play will only keep you in the dark. In my opinion, there must be an absolute basic starting point in terms of the numbers (conditions) which cater to your system. From this point filtering can be administered without much worry of killing the winning number(s). Without a starting point, how can you know wha

Need some advice
I'd rather win lotto and buy the house of my dreams then win a house in a raffle that might have any number of issues I wouldn't be able to afford to maintain, repair, insure, property taxes, moving expenses, new furniture, rugs, window teatments and all the other things a new place needs. The big problem is when they want to sell much more in tickets then the house is worth, whatever their reason. Dilutes the value of the tickets. Not to say I'm not tempted if everything looked righ

$1000 a week for life? So what
After reading this thread I just had to get some Win For Life tickets last night but I only matched two numbers and didn't win anything. Win For Life is a multi-state (Kentucky, Georgia, and Virginia) game where they draw 6 numbers from a pool of 42 (6/42) and then draw 1 more number as a bonus ball. It's not matching any 6 numbers out of the 7 drawn because the bonus ball is not used for the grand prize, but if you match any 5 numbers plus the bonus ball, you'll win $52,000. The payments for th

Calif. man claims half of $333M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
1. AS I PREDICTED, there was immediately another winner (in GA) on the next drawing for $12 million. Although, the bonus ball 19 and not 10 as I had thought. 2. Sidebar: what is the most unusual place you have seen a Lottery terminal? I would vote for a nail salon in the Rockaway Mall #1 and this noodle joint as #2. 3. Why's that dude sawing his guitar?? 4. If it's QP, then whoever pushed the key on the terminal at exactly the right instant when the RNG had the winning set, should get a

Working Scratch of tactics thread
It all helps! Here's a shocker I figured out. In order to turn a profit and give away the occaisional big prize. MOST of the rolls of tickets for any game are sour , that is, no big winners. If the software or whoever distributes the rolls has determined the sour rolls go to your local store, you'll be wasting your money sadly hoping to win. But all the rolls look like they have big winners on them. They're identical . They're flashy, cleverly designed. Buying a number of tickets is best if y
