We have two types of predictions here; the prediction pages where the results are analyzed and the standard 'one of these numbers should hit' in the other forums. When somebody says they have a system, I check their prediction statistics. Since the lotteries only payout 50 cents on the dollar, anyone over a 50% prize ratio is doing better than a random guess. I look at total combinations, which can be expressed as a part of lex. For the 5/39- The largest amount of combinations contain the number 1. The second largest amount of cominations contain the number 2, and so on, leading to: The least amount of combinations contain the number 39. The combinations with low leading numbers appear to have odds favoring the lottery (such as 1-12-22-31-38). The combinations with high leading numbers appear to favor the player (such as 35-36-37-38

The guy who said getting 3 of 5 isn't close wasn't me. I was the guy who replied getting 4of5 means your odds dropped to 1 in 36 of getting all 5 correct because there are only 36 numbers from 5/40 remaining for the fifth position. What really counts is how many of the winning numbers were among those you played. If you had 3 of the winning numbers and won a 3# prize that's just a lucky break and nothing to get excited about. I would like to think that I have lowered my odds by playing this new system/method/plan (call it what you will). I have increased my winnings significantly.....thats a fact. Coincidence?
