Which scratchers do you play?
I don't often play scratch-offs, but once in a while I play them on a whim. I don't care to throw a lot of money at them, but I do like to win, so I've found my best luck has been with the $2 tickets.
Most recently, I've played the Hoosier Lottery's Bonus Roulette game. It's a $2 game based on roulette numbers. The player gets ten numbers to try to match two winning numbers. There's also a bonus number that gives the player a shot at winning all ten prizes associated with his ten numbers if a

Study in Prediction for Jeff's "R" State.
Jeff the daily games (Pick 3 and 4) are to be seen as problems in need of a solution or solutions, not as games and or as gambling and also not as ways of making money, but as puzzles that need to be unravel, to be seen as intelectual exercises as challenges, they are said to be impossible to BreaK so We say Let us break them just for the challenge and the fun of trying. And do everything on paper, there is no need to spend any money on it or while trying, once is done, if it is done, then m

Powerball lottery jackpot reaches $250 million
Libra
Well, let's see....200 tickets a week x 52 weeks = 10400 tickets/yr
We've been playing almost 9 yrs = approx 93600 tickets total give or take a couple thousand.
Now, 93600/146 million = 1/15000 I think...LOL
Now, we have won $100 many times, and even as much as 1,000 in one draw, but thats about it.
Odds are still way ahead of us. But we keep fighting for another day! :)

At what point (matrix) would you not play
The future of Powerball and MegaMillions thread got me thinking about this.
At what point would you see a lottery game as odds just too great to even bother going up against?
5/60, 1/55... 5/65, 1/65, etc...
At what point?
PS
And do you think any lottery commission may monitor this board? There's an awful lot of information here....perhaps a thread like this does some of their own studies for them. Just a thought.

Hmm...I need to go back and read all the posts because I must have missed something, unless you are saying that 3 people splitting the winning jackpot will not be stinking, filthy rich. In American dollars isn't that over $75 million each, tax free (and they don't have to take it in an annuity!) So that's equal to one of our mega jackpot

Uncle Sam Wins Your Lottery
Attention, lottery players: If you win a nice big prize, opt to take it as a stream of payments and then change your mind and wish you had taken it as a lump sum, don't expect any special tax benefits if you sell your annuity for immediate cash.Over and over in the past few years and especially since capital gains tax rates were lowered in 2001 lottery winners have sold their rights to future payments and tried to treat what they got in exchange as capital gains.Since capital gains are now t

Father, son feud over lottery winnings
Two months ago, a Vietnamese immigrant named Thien Minh Luu said he experienced a stroke of extraordinary good fortune: He bought a $5 lottery scratch ticket at a convenience store in Worcester and won $1 million. But what first appeared to be the quintessential modern American fairy tale has turned into the archetypal American family feud. The 45-year-old manicurist filed a lawsuit, saying his 21-year-old son tricked him into turning over the ticket and then tried to steal the winnings.Luu and h

Plans For Your Winnings
I wouldn't benefit from the money for at least a year. The first thing I'd do is put the unsigned ticket in my safety deposit box and KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT. I wouldn't even tell my own mother before the trusts were drafted and recorded, so my second action would be to show up at my attorney's office unannounced (I love doing this and, when he complains that he doesn't have time to see me, I just ask if he has time to refund my entire retainer. Somehow, magically, a slot always opens up).Once the tru
