Matt, etiquette is... it's your money, don't feel pressured thinking you need to tip. I only tip if I got some info from clerk on a big win. Chris, how the heck that store get new tixs already. That means Pa lottery sends out tixs on Friday to some retailers not all. Odds on all tixs looks the same as before, ehh. Interesting note on that $5 triple win tix, guaranteed winners gonna be thrown away because most people don't scratch prize amount. What a scam! Good luck

$188 million winning Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in CaliforniaNews Story
A lottery ticket with all six winning numbers in the latest multi-state Mega Millions draw was sold just inside the California border and its owner must decide whether to receive the $188 million jackpot in 30 installments or its $113.6 million cash value, the California Lottery announced today. The numbers drawn Friday night were 17, 37, 53, 54, and 61, with Mega Ball number 8. The Megaplier was 3. The drawing was the 20th since the last time a ticket matching all six numbers was sold.

The books that showed up in new locations were likely from the last batch that left the warehouse. Typically when they are down to 60 or 70 or so they will look at what games they want to close strategically. Say they are wanting to bring out a new 10 dollar game they will target closing or finishing up a 10 dollar game. Also, playing strategically *can* increase one's odds. Some buy randomly, which is fine. I think buying random $5 tickets is also a great idea since that price point can have great wins out there. I forgot the name of the poster, but I remember we had someone post in 2016 on this thread who shared a $2k and $10k winner he found on a $5 ticket. His strategy was to only buy 2 at a time, and it worked for him. For new games or ones with large numbers of prizes remaining, that strategy would be fine

I doubt think Publix selling so many jackpots is illegitimate. I think there's two things going for Publix: 1- They have a very large number of stores across the state, apparently 774 stores. 2- Alot of people have heard about big winners coming from Publix, and some play there exclusively because of that.
