Has anyone quit their day job to play numbers?
One of the reasons why I stopped playing powerball and mega millions is because of the odds. If the odds are 1 in 200 million, would I have won even if I bought a 1,000 tickets?

Anybody buy a MM ticket for tonight?
Pie in the sky odds demand pie in the sky jackpot amounts. NY Lotto offers a similar jackpot amount but tickets are TWO for a buck and 45 million to 1 odds.

Is Michigan RNG looting?
The odds of hitting 10 spots for $250,000 on the Daily Keno are about 2,500,000 to 1 which are about the same odds as matching 5 cards for $100,000 on the Poker Lotto

How the Lottery Numbers are picked
This makes me think of my uncle who's 87. He's been playing the lottery here in CA since it started 30 odd years ago. He is still flabbergasted that he hasn't won, lol. He buys 2 quick picks a week. You just can't explain odds enough to some people. Rig or no rig, the odds are always against you in the first place.

Post Your Winning Instant ("Scratch-Off") Tickets for Georgia..Keeping it Real!
Georgia Lottery is ridiculous with these new games and their ridiculous odds. I'm sticking with the older games until they come out with games with better odds. The Georgia Lottery has completely gone down hill, a far cry from what it used to be.

What are the odds?
I looked at one of my MM quick pic for tonight's drawing and notices that I matched 3 numbers and was 2(1 on both) away on the other 2 for my usual numbers. The MM was off, I use 10 and I had 5 on the ticket.

Go Big or Go Small?
When studying different patterns there are situations that come up that result in several possible patterns. The first pattern may occur more frequently but the odds are worse. The last pattern may occur less frequently, but the odds of picking the right combination are higher since there is a smaller number of numbers to choose from.
I see this a lot with Keno where the most common pattern may appear on average 2,200 times in the winning results, but the potential number of combinations is 4

Why Powerball?
@ winoneday - Well, the odds doesn't really matter for me. When my workout is finished, I'm left with about 50,000 tickets which contains all five white balls on a pretty regular basis. For me it's just a matter of time. I'm pretty certain that people here understand odds, but simply choose the game that they enjoy playing the most. In other words, keep your insults to yourself.

Why Powerball?
It appears very few people understand odds. Strange given this is a lottery discussion group and the main difference between different lotteries is the odds.
