Is This Game Worth Buying In Bulk Or Playing?
As of this week - Weekly Grand isnt' one we'd recommend for TX - it has a smart factor rating of .990 There are 5 other $2.00 games in TX that have much better odds of winning a top prize. At .990, it means that the odd of winning a top prize are still out there, but the top prize odds are slightly worse than when the game was originally printed - meaning more top prizes have been awarded than the same proportion of all tickets sold.

What is wrong with this scratch off?
So the odds to win are 1 in 2.5 or so. For a $20 dollar ticket, are those goods odds? Is this a card that you should pickup?

Illinois lawmakers call for investigation into lottery
I quoted from the article:
The firms said that even if all grand prizes were not awarded in games, the odds of winning were the same for each individual ticket.
What jerks. While we care about odds, we care about honesty and the amounts being what they are claimed for all the tickets printed and sold as should be for the benefit of the game and the players that hope with the real odds of winning a big one.
Are these sleaze-bags really trying to justify their cheating scratch-off buyer

One reason it's difficult to win...
I am an Engineer by trade and spend some time with the hobby of scratch offs.. Most people think that the lottery is a tax on those who have poor math skills. In my case that's not true :)
I buy my tickets mainly in the PA suburbs and have noted a trend. I have purchased 30-40 whole books this year (mostly $10, $20, and $30) and about the same over the past few years. One trend that is real is that winning tickets rarely follow each other. They do at times; but mostly after a winning ticket a

Mad as Hell cause you can't WIN MM or PB...??
Your odds may be better but the prize is a lot smaller. If you're only hoping to win a million or so, are the odds really any better?

Mad as Hell cause you can't WIN MM or PB...??
I would play games with better odds. I've been playing WI supercash (6/39 game) for quite a while, the odds at hitting the JP are about 1:1.7 million. If I can't win that one, how can I win something like PB? However; when PB gets really high, I still buy one ticket just for the excitement.

Post your scratch ticket results
Very nice win! The odds of winning a $200 in Colorado on the better of our $20's is 1 in 542.99. I was curious what your odds were of hitting $250, as I've seen quite a few on the site since I lurked around. Congrats on the win!

Florida Holiday Millionaire Raffle 2016
Well, the odds of winning $1,000,000 in the raffle is 1/107,000. The odds of winning $1,000,000 in the Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off (for example) is 1/1,680,000. These games are both $20 per ticket.

Judge: Poker pro Ivey, pal broke gambling rules in $10M win
Since the states know they are only paying out a 1000 and 10000 to one the winners has to be spending thousands of dollars or discounting tickets for other winners who want to avoid reporting their winnings. If the a state was paying out more than the odds suggest, it would probably assume some of the winners were actually beating the odds and investigate.
