They are not truely random. The only time that they would be random is if they were drawn in a vacumn. I knew what you meant, but I was trying to get you to buy five separate tickets with the same number, so you could claim some tickets this year and some tickets next year (lol), but you got the hint, but then your picture wouldn't be on the NY Lottery web-site as the five million dollar winner if you wait until after January 1, 2012 to claim some of the tickets. So, what do you think of my succes in winning something in 3 out of 4 SM drawings so far during promo month picking my own numbers?

I usually buy my tickets from one store that I trust. When I do buy them, I usually ask the clerk which one he thinks I should get from the $2 ones and sometimes $5 ones (the $1 scratch offs have bad odds in NJ, almost every other one's payouts are the same overall- just with different prize structures.) I reached out to the Michigan Lottery office, and this afternoon I received a note back from the PR Director, correcting the inaccurate information that started this thread.
