Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
truecritic,
I think all players base success on how much money won. Even if itonly means losing less. If you can lose less with a SP, why not?
Fronm the gist of this thread I think we can say that the QP player is much more likely to play $1, while the sP players, especially those playing wheels are going to spend a lot more than $1. So if the QP player doesn't win, the most common result, they lose $1. If the sP player doesn't win, the most common result, they lose ?
So I think th

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
To me, I think you pretty much explained it. Millions do not show any profit with QPs. Millions do not show any profit with SPs.
Whereas, Quick Pick Players base their success on how much money they win as opposed to how much they spend.
I think pretty much anyone keeping books would agree that if you are playing a lottery game and you have 1 number matched, that is a losing ticket. I don't think that would make SPs better than QPs. I think it is the dollar amount you win - but regardless

Fooled by Randomness
The Quest for a Blockbuster System
In a couple of my earlier posts, I mentioned that I had 12,200 Draw results for the Pennsylvania Daily Number game (Evening). This was incorrect. I hadn't finished grabbing all 33.4 years from the PA website, so I multipled 33.4 by 365 and rounded to 12,200. In fact, PA did not draw Daily Numbers on Sundays for nearly 2 years. So, now that I'm done, what I have are 11,563 rows from March 1, 1977 to today, August 3, 2010.
Theoretically, according to probab

Pick10 bah bye
Pick10 only has had 25 jackpot winners during the last 5 years.
Either very few people play it, or its not possible to win. Considering its played
daily, I am astonished at these results. The odds are just too high
for such a low jackpot to even bother($500k - 1:9m).
It seems that having twice the chance to win would make the 2nd 3rd prizes
winnable. However, a key space of 80, negates 2x numbers. Had the key space been
same as Take5, with 5-39-10, then fine, we are in the game

Does a player with knowledge of past drawings have an advantage picking his own numbers and combinations over QPs?
It depends how many combinations you're talking about, which game, and what is considered an accurate test. With over 175 million possible outcomes in PB and MM, it's difficult to determine what is a fair test. It's not very constructive trying to prove what is already know either. The odds of winning anything is about 1 in 40 so any 40 different combos should win back somethin

1/300 Odds For Your State
Yay for S.C.! You're welcome, destiny. It can get confusing. LOL, I'm sure a lot of people looking at this go, ,huh?
Well, there it is. We've hit 33 straights in (less than) 30 days. And all at 1/300 odds. I don't know if it's any accomplishment really, but it just goes to show how difficult picking a straight number is... even out of 300,lol.
Wed Eve:

Going to hang onto these until all states hit a

My digit system for pick-5 or pick-6 lottery
Jimmy
Let me get this straight. You want me to build you a software program that can beat the odds
and win more often than probability theory would allow for. You then want the source code so
that it can be proven. I am not a pick-3/4 player, these games consist of nothing more than picking
a number from 000 to 999 and 0000 to 9999. This could take some time, but I will get right on it.
I normally ask for 50% up front for a job of this undertaking. We can set up a funds transfer

New York, NAILING THE PICK 4 !!
I post them 99% of the time, so just check in........It depends how many duplicate numbers fall, like on a 50 cent bet, 1234 gets you, $100, 1134 gets you $200, 1114, gets you, $600....
However, when playing a number with triples in it, like 1115, you should play 50 cent combo, it covers 1511, 1151, 1115, 5111 for only $2.00..... BUT you will have to get a check and a 1099 for taxes, so save your losing lottery tickets, I have a shoe box with about $1,400.00 worth this year including scratch

i finally just got around to checking my mega millions 1QP from friday nights drawing.
you guessed it.........im a loser
naturally, i would be completely devasted, having expended countless hours in time and worrying, if not for the fact i had the first number.
you cannot imagine how my confidence soared, thinking i was closer.
i don't live far enough away from the golden gate bridge to discount emotional suicide, because i wasn't meant to .
but hey, people have survived that 220
