the average lottery player
I think the average player will play a ticket once in a while, or when the jackpot
gets pretty high and everyone is talking about it. I know a lot of people who will
buy a ticket, realize that they didn't win the big jack pot, and then give it up
as a waste of time and money. What I did not know is that if you go too deeply
into odds and the number system, we become less intelligent than an average
player, who understands the value of a dollar. I am talking about when we spend

Random Numbers Predictable?
When i say hot cold numbers i mean what numbers become hot and what numbers become cold from the inception of the game (you might take a 2year history for a pick5), perhaps longer for a pick6 (i don t know that is how i do it)....You may also start from when there change the machine since they change machines all the time...And you have to look at the 3 most predominat ratios for pick6, and perhaps the 3/4 most predominat ratios for pick6...
If you know the numbers are walking randomly, wh

Number Traps
One of my favorites is an oldie but goodie of mine.
Here in Florida the Fantasy Five has about a 376 thousand combos. 1 thru 36.
I found out through research of my own that approximately 80 precent of the numbers in the lowest field are 1 thru 10.
All I do is now to make a list vertically from 1 to 10, and just fill in the rest with whatever method you choose. The important part to remember is that 80 percent of the time you will have the first number correctly. That will cut the odds d

The vastness of the odds for a jackpot win...
My statement was offhand and probably in error regarding PER WEEK 10-20. *Daily*, yes. However I stand by the basic premise. of investing your money.
I thought your basic premise was comparing the huge odds against winning a lottery jackpot to investing the money you spent chasing it. I suppose it depends on how you define huge jackpot , but it in the last Mega Million run, it took 5 weeks before people began noticing there was a huge jackpot ($130 million). The jackpot tripled in size ($3

The vastness of the odds for a jackpot win...
Hi, justxploring, I have read your posts for ages here, and am a big fan of yours. :)
I joined because I have read and read for eons and have not any 2 cents to show for it, and am fascinated by the whole topic. I am sure nearly everyone here realizes they are, in theory, wasting their money on these games, but play for diversion and a shot in the dark. I meant not to sound pessimistic per se, but honesty is a fault of mine so beware. :)
Like anyone, even die hard sceptics, I have bought

The odds the Jackpot reached $390 million are...
First of all I meant rounds, not weeks.
I checked out the thread by Prob988

The information you asked for is not there.
The closest data is:
1- The odds of 1.63% for a similar estimated jackpot ($394, see post from January 10 2007) as Overall Calculated Model Rollover Probability of the long term jackpot evolution model, which is significantly outphased with the observed (more precisely: official) evolution.
2- the distribution pro

I have a question
I knew that someone would try to impose some kind of mathematical formular to prove my statements untrue.
Well, your math doesn't add up.
A good RNG would not place four 16s, five 24s, and four 42s on one set of five lines, and do that same kind of grouping on at least every other ticket. (A ticket being made up of five lines.)
You tried to prove something that I did not assert. Please read my post again, and note that I said nothing about similar numbers being grouped together .
