Scratch Game Payouts
Gee Jimmy, looks like us in PA aren't as bad off as we would like to think in terms of % pay out. I keep track, and it pretty much agrees with what i buy, and just like slots, the higher demonimations pay higer %. I'll repeat my question here: As newer games are issued, don't the average odds of winning anything seem to get higher.? For example, the original $5 Bingo game was about 1 in 2.5, then 1 in 3, now it's one in 4. Like wise other games, the average $1 game was about 1 in

Probabilty of Someone Winning a PB & MM Jackpot in the same Week!
Each indivicual ticket (ticket meaning one line of numbers, $1) is up against the same odds of 175,711, 536 to 1. Yup. That's true, and I like that you felt the need to emhasize each individual ticket but don't understand the significance of it. in a world of 175,000,000 + 100 is still infintesimal. Yup. That's true also. No one is going to say, I can't believe I didn't pick a colored grain of sand since my chances doubled. Yup. You got that one right, to. It does

Probabilty of Someone Winning a PB & MM Jackpot in the same Week!
KY Floyd The following Saturday two yards have somebody standing in them. Isn't it twice as likely that the lightning will hit one of the yards with somebody in it? Twice as likely in a world of 140,000,000 to one is a wee bit optimistic. Actually, when the second person stands in their yard what has happened is the chances of lightning hitting an occupied yard have only been reduced by 1/1400,000,000. We started out with no one in a yard. the first occupied yard becomes 1 occupie

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
In my previous analysis, I used a figure of $134M for sales - based on some extrapolation of sales figures from the previous draws in this run. However the lottery is apparently estimating - until the jackpot is announced as being higher - sales of about 116M. The lottery's figure will give the following rollover probability: 051.45% 134.19% 211.36% 32.52% 40.42% 50.06% 60.01% I think in any case, there is a fairly decent chance - close to e

proven lotto prediction!!
I didn't just fall off turnip truck yesterday, it was last week. I do understand what's going on here, how the boards and predictions work. I think in this case you missed the context of the thread. The man is being asked to make predictions and whether he cashed in any winning tickets, which implies actual play not just predictions for fun. I would post Pick-3 and Pick-4 predictions I play because it doesn't matter to the prize pool. I would never post my Pick-5 and Pick-6 tickets

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
If the jackpots don't get quite as high it's because MORE STATES ARE PLAYING and PEOPLE ARE WINNING JACKPOTS MORE OFTEN. That isn't how it works. How often the jackpots are won is and always will be a function of the odds, but probability is only a trend and there will be variations on both sides of the norm. The more people play the more money goes into the prize pool and the higher the jackpots get. More people playing means more winners, but it also means more money for prizes at the s

What would you do if you won 10 Billion dollars..
You're right, except that it was all the way back in the early 90's. They actually bought an entire business that was already a lottery retailer (a chain with 35 lottery machines), closed it to the public and printed tickets for 3 days straight. They reportedly managed to print about 6 of 7 million possible combinations, spent a bit of time freaking out because they didn't have their sure thing, and then found that they did have the only winning ticket. The Virginia lottery said that they had

Lucky For Life
I won't mourn the loss of LFL. I didn't play it. Same with Match6. I won't bother with Bait Switch (err... Mix Match) either... When will the idiots in Harrisburg finally get the fact that we (PAplayers) Are not all that excited about playing a $2 ticket for peanut prizes when PB still only sets you back $1 (Unless you CHOOSE Powerplay)? Here were the problems with the games listed 1) LFL. Doing the math, a Job at Burger King pays more. Not that checks would be bad, but not worth
