Idaho Raffle Adds Instant Win Component
If the clerks at the retailer actually buy the tickets, I really don't have a problem with it. I or any other random player could stand at a vending machine when the lucky number is close and do the same thing. Feed hundred dollar bills in and keep pushing the button. My problem is that the retailers could do it without risking any money, by selling the non-instant win tickets to their unsuspecting customers.

[UPDATE] D.C. woman who tried to redeem faulty ticket admitted to forging second 'winner'
If you play scratch off enough you realize the number code on the front of the ticket match the code on the back. If she had been a regular buyer of tickets from one local retailer 95% of the time. If it really get messed up in the vending machine. All the other ticket on that roll such have been ruin as well. It would line up right. This is the kind of thing you tell the retailer right away. There would been more complains.

Extradition trial begins this week in $16.5M Hot Lotto fraud case
Here in Idaho each ticket has the code for the machine it was bought from. Albertson's has 2 vending machines plus a terminal at the customer service counter, and each has a different code. So when you do win and can't remember which store you purchased the ticket from, just go to each of your regular stores and buy a draw ticket (doesn't even have to be the same game) and look for numbers that match your winning ticket. Idaho has a string of 6 numbers, I imagine other states will have 6 - 8

At the gas station today noticed something really disturbing. This guy dropped 200$ in the vending machine and took out 10 of the Ultimate Riches. I saw him scratch each one of them. One after another he was cursing. All of them came up duds. I have never in my life seen that. After a few you would expect maybe a ticket or something. But he ended up throwing all of them away. Sad sad state of affairs.

I don't play scratchers very often, but the at the little c-store where I buy my draw tickets the store owner plays scratchers often. I'll ask her every time I go in if she's had any big wins. I don't see a big deal about it. When I do buy a scratcher she doesn't notate it, but I never scratch it in the store. If it's something that really bothers you, maybe try buying tickets out of a vending machine at a Publix.

I went by the Publix in Metrowest Orlando during lunchtime. A woman was in line to redeem 2 winning new $25 scratchers. She said she purchased them both in that same Publix last night, took them home and found the big wins. So after seeing her luck I bought my usual Fantasy 5 and Lucky Money tickets for tonight then purchased 6 of the new $25 scratchers. I bought 2 off the roll at the counter, 4 from the vending machine, 2 off 2 rolls. Total of 6 purchased. I won $25 back on 2, the rest losers.
