Do you think that $20 and $30 scratch offs should have 1 in 2 overall odds?
I agree if the odds were 'good' at 1:2 you would only be winning your money back most of the time or make only a $5 or $10 profit. The $30 ticket in CT the overall odds are poor but when you win you win a good amount. I believe its like 1 in 2000 to win between $5000-30,000

Second Chance Drawings
All I know is, it's hard to tell exactly what your odds are for a 2nd chance drawing in any state because the number of participants vary from state to state and even game to game!. A state like Michigan has not so good odds because of the high participation from the state's population. Your method of getting the tickets from a friend is a good idea. Don't give up, and don't forget to post it here on this thread when you win! Good luck!

Streaks and the " HOT HAND "-article from Ny times
Interesting article, Igamble. Sometimes it is rational to expect streaks, sometimes not. You have to know the odds. For example, in Pick3, if you get zero digits repeating from the last game the odds of it happening again in the next game are 44%. So you tend to see streaks of 2 or 3 in a row. OTOH, for 2 digits repeating from the last game, the odds of another 2 digit repeat are only 14%, so streaks are rare. So, if you know the odds you won't be expecting streaks when they are less

Lottery commission can/should make it easier 2 WIN lottery!
There was a time when the jackpots were much smaller then they are now. Ten, twenty, maybe fifty million and people played all the time... But this was when the number field and thus the odds to win were much smaller than they are now. But every now and then the jackpot would grow much higher. (Remember the excitement over the first $100 million jackpot?) Every one wanted to take a shot at it, people who never played in their lives bought tickets. But as soon as someone hit it, the excitement di

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Hopefully, our overall odds are going to be better than 1 in 3.22 though their odds for a top prize win is better than our $20 game. I like how they itemize the different prize scenarios for each dollar amount.

How can the lottery Mm and Pb even out the odds of other places winning?
Who is going to play lottery games, where winning small prizes feel like playing for a jackpot? The odds of winning $5,000 in Mega millions are 1 in 739,688. Does the lottery think that lottery players are stupid? The starting jackpots should be $100 Million for Mega Millions and Powerball compared to the odds of winning.

New Mexico Lottery adds midday Pick 3 drawing
NM's Quicksters are kinda like scratch-offs minus the scratching. The overall odds on this game are 1 in 3.06, which is better than any draw game. Plus a rolling jackpot, which isn't available with most scratch-offs. Depending on the top prize odds and how far the JP can roll this could be a nice game.

How can the lottery Mm and Pb even out the odds of other places winning?
When applying odds against matching 5 numbers to the total sales, the average is 1 PB five number match for every 5,153,633 tickets sold. Each individual PB state is responsible for paying all secondary prize payoffs and state lotteries like in North Dakota only sold 52,040 tickets for the 6/5 drawing. Just based on the odds against winning, ND should expect 1 five number match every year (100 drawings).

How can the lottery Mm and Pb even out the odds of other places winning?
What's up lottery managers and lottery big wigs. What can be done so other states can at least win the second tier $1,000,000 prize, instead of the same states winning over and over again?

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Thanks for the heads up, I saw there was a new survey available but haven't done it yet. Additionally, I think we regular players should make a concerted effort to write the lottery and demand the odds for the $500 level are in line with previous Gold Rush games, and express our discontent for the worsening of odds for the newer games they have released.
