22 Ohio co-workers share $99M Mega Millions jackpot
By Todd Northrop
A lucky group of 22 co-workers were at the Ohio Lottery's Youngstown office Monday to claim their share of last week's $99 million Mega Millions jackpot.
The Ohio lottery said most of the 22 work for KraftMaid in Jefferson, Ashtabula County, midway between Cleveland and Youngstown. The majority of the winners work together in the logistics and customer service departments at the cabinet making company. The group has been playing the lottery for several years.

Lucky lottery lady outed as Stanford University statistics PhD
This is an old story, bandied about here before.
It is nothing but harebrained, unproven, speculation, designed to get tongues wagging.
So, the odds of her winning these 4 lottery games is 1 in 18 septillion? I'm afraid not. Some idiot multipled together the probabilities of winning each of the 4 to come up with that number. Just as the probability of flipping a coin heads is 50%, no matter how many times it previously came up heads, so is the probability of winning a subsequent lottery pr

Lucky lottery lady outed as Stanford University statistics PhD
I did a digital download of this mag, just for this article. Just a brief summary.
The reporter talked to a statistics PhD who said the odds of one person hitting the 3 scratchers is much steeper than 18 septillion.
The reporter spoke to a state official from another lottery who said I am certain that the Texas Lottery is doing a serious investigation, and they are not going to let anyone know about it. An IRS investigation is the what the locals say promted the store closing.

Massachusetts Lottery closes loophole after big wins

I think Todd nailed it when we said it's a betting strategy. The game is designed to roll down and pay out more
for lower prizes and that is exactly what it does. It is working just as it is designed as far as I can see and no
loop hole exist at all. I would love to see these sort of games increase instead of going down the tubes so to
speak. I think you are right that some people don't want others to succeed. What bothers me the most is that
dissinformation will win out in

Thanks for your reply, the type of filter is not the big issue, the real issue is can it be predicted.
No matter how well a filter reduces if it does not have predictable qualities then one should move
on to another. I find that having several more then are nessary and then using them as replacements
on certain days is helpful. Even though we may be using different types of filtering the idea is still
basically the same and I am glad to hear someone else has found some

Millions in lottery jackpots expire every year
What is going on in California? Now this has been said a lot
and not just out of jealousy but real concern. There is an area with in California
that defies all reasonable though an defies the odds for winning the lotto.
That is any of the lottery games any money over one hundred thousand dollars .This
regent is an area fifty miles in diameter around Las Angelis .The lottery officials justify this be making the claim that is because LA has more

North Carolina family wins lottery 3 times
Most people only dream of winning the lottery, but a North Carolina mother and daughter not only beat the odds they did it three times.
Kimberly McCauley of Charlotte, N.C., won $100,000 in North Carolina's new scratcher game called 10X the Money, last week.
McCauley said she never imagined she'd win anything. After all, her mother Amy McCauley is a two-time lottery winner.
I figured my mom was hogging all the luck. This is so overwhelming, but it's a good kind of overwhelming, Kimberl

A Wheel Question...
Stack47,
The issue here is not the journalistic credentials of mathematicians and gaming consultants, it's whether their experience allows them to assert mathematical principals that refute your claims regarding the chances of winning lotteries. Above you said,
With Bluejay it's only necessary to read his lopsided rules to know why the high priced 'get rich quick' systems ignore him and since even the simple playing strategies are for SHORT TERM PLAY, only a fool would give his 200,000 ro
