I like my way of thinking and the odds I calculate. When you buy your tickets one of two things will happen. You will win or lose so I have a 50/50% odds.

The odds of sum 0 falling is 1000:1. The odds of sum 27 falling is also 1000:1. If sum 0 is omitted, then why not sum 27? Does 999 fall more often than 000?

When someone says a coin flip is a 50/50 bet, it doesn't mean there are 50 heads and 50 tails. They're talking about the two different outcomes and not the odds for or against either outcome. Every time I purchased a MM or PB ticket the results were I either won or lost regardless of the odds for or against winning anything. Maybe you and me just use common sense an don't find it necessary to nit-pic someone else's perception.

Why should anyone care? Most state lotteries have larger jackpots with better odds. Ohio's Classic Lotto has a jackpot of ~$65M with odds of 1:14M.

Yup. They pulled the Frenzy from the CA Lottery website, but I recall the overall odds being considerably worse than the 2nd worst game in the $5 category. It was something like 1 in 4.41, closer to overall odds for a $2 game.

Maybe you don't have the same options I have. If I don't like buying a $1 MM ticket to win $20M with odds of 1:258,890,850 of winning it I can buy a $1 OCL ticket to win $64M with odds of 1:13,983,316.

It should be 686 on the dot. I assume you're using 18,000,000 tickets in your calculation to get that number 685.7? But the most accurate number would be from multiplying the top prize odds * winners = 18,007,500 total tickets in the game. Othewise the odds would be misrepresented.

I couldn't care less about where either game jackpot starts because I will only play when their jackpots and odds of winning are worth the price of of their tickets which is more than $100M. When they are less I have a choice of other games with similar jackpots with better odds.
