One in 1,200 to win $500 is AWFUL for a $30 game! I can't see how the overall odds are so good based on the actual breakdown of prize level odds!

What are the current games you're playing?
Great question Josh...I play the biggies MM and PB at the base jackpots and up........Scratchers now I only play the $10 and $20 ones cause their odds are usually better, and if I got an extra $100 bucks I try to cover those odds...I also play the Cash 5 here in NC when it get past at least 250,000

How Far Will The Mega Millions Go Before Odds Make It Impossible For Anyone?
Megaball currently comes from pool of 1 in 46; the new version comes from a pool of 1 in 15. So basically they worsened odds of top prize by adding 19 balls (56 to 75) to main pot and improved odds of lower prizes by subtracting 31 balls (46 to 15) from the bonus pot.

I would imagine it is a $25 game since the overall odds are 1:2.86...... The current $25 game is 1 in 2.87..... It would be great to be a $20 game, but with those odds I am certain it will be $25.

Non-Complex P-3 Strategy
jimjwright was sincerely trying to help flesh out the bare bones of the system. That's pretty much normal procedure here at LP. Someone comes up with the new system.....and then the LP members point out odds and hit rates. This is good.
That's just in case some innocent member was following along without knowing the odds. All systems can work at some point. Still, there is nothing wrong with quoting the odds .......that's how we do it.
It helps to put an actual percent and expected hit

How many tickets do you normally buy for either JP?
thought I'm more likely to buy tickets when I believe the jackpot is more likely to be won. Whether or not it's sound, the strategy is the odds of my tickets winning are compared to the total ticket sales rather than the odds against all the possible combinations.

Illinois Lottery adds new feature to numbers games
These guys are marketers and self-promoters but not really doing much for the players.
To win both bets, the player must first beat 999 to 1 odds to get 3 chances out of 20 to win the second bet too. IMO, there is no real extra value by playing Fireball trying to win both bets when we can simply bet on the same combo twice.
The My 3 game gives the player the chance to turn a losing bet into a winning bet by lowering the straight and box payoffs and not a bad bet for players that can't hi

Illinois Lottery adds new feature to numbers games
Well, I think the question is, if you're going to spend an extra 50 cents, is it better to spend it on another pick or on the Fireball. You could be right, it could be a ripoff. Or you could be wrong. Honestly, I don't know the answer because the odds calculation on the Fireball is a little too complex for me. That's why I said earlier that the answer really requires a mathematician, or at least someone who could compare the odds.

Pennsylvania Lottery game development: Little left to chance
Scratch-off payouts are generally better than lotto draw games. I'm not saying the lottery is the same as an investment, but if you're going to complain about scratch-off odds, then you should be really upset about lotto draw game odds.

Odds of winning.
Not sure what you mean by better odds. if you mean better number of chances then you are correct , but only because you played a large number of tickets . However your odds of winning the jackpot on any of the sets of numbers generated remains the same be it 98,820 QPs or the system set.
A qp has the same odds of being drawn as any of the sets on a wheel.
I'm rusty on factorials but I believe there is 1 in 3,819,816 of getting 5 numbers correct in 56 and those odds of having a set drawn ch
