Powerball Changes
The odds are being reduced to about 175 million to 1. About the same odds as MM. The extra $2 will fund a larger second prize fro $200000 to $1000000. It's ok with me since I always play powerplay anyway. I won't pay an extra dollar after the change for the powerplay though.

Lottery stop loss limit=$60 annually with three playing methods starting in 2012
I feel that powerball jackpots will go to $100 millions and $200 millions so fast that we are not going to have any chance of playing mega millions.By the way the new powerball odds will be lower than current mega millions odds.Take a look at it on the questions and answers section in the powerball website.

Mega millions jackpot jumped from $12 millions to $15 millions on last night drawing. That's the problem with high odds and low starting jackpots games. It takes a long time to push those jackpots higher. Mega millions will have a hard time competing against powerball $40 millions starting jackpot next month unless they increase the starting jackpot to $40 millions too or merge with powerball to create a national lottery. Can you imagine a national lottery with a $100 millions starting jackpot and

Mathematics and the Lottery
You're probably right and you don't have to prove it because the odds of anyone ever proving you wrong are probably the same as their odds of ever winning a lottery jackpot.

I think they're dropping a number on either the 1-59 set or the powerball set itself. Odds are still astronomically high - I'm no better off buying 10 tickets than 1 ticket. I just grab a single QP whenever I'm in the store. My odds are roughly the same no matter what.

more luck in state lottery or mm or pb winning 5 + 0
No question, the state games have the best odds of winning a jackpot but if winning smaller prizes more often is fun PowerBall beats them all. Just look at their overall odds of winning a prize.

Ohio's New Year's Raffle
I read about the raffle on the Ohio lottery website. Interesting that they say it's the best odds to win a million dollars, but I don't see what the odds are or how many tickets they are selling this year. Is it 500,000 tickets again?

20 Years and Never Hit
You could play the same numbers for the next 100 years and still not win...that's just the odds of the game. I thought you were perhaps looking for some new advice on numbers to play or how to better your odds but you've only told us you've never hit which, by the way, 99.9% of lottery players never have either as far as a jackpot.

The odds of any one number straight is 1 in 1000. For a single, there are 6 ways it could come out box. so 6/1000=167.666666667. Doubles have 3 ways, so 3/1000=333.3333334. Any specific triples's odds are 1 in 1000, flat, or 10 in 1000 for any triple.
