Scratch Off Strategy
Great tip, thanks! I'm gonna look into those patterns here in the FLA. I don't know what it's like in PA, but here you don't get to look over a ticket before you buy it. You can either get them from a vending machine that spits 'em out or an annoyed clerk who's usually in a rush. You don't really get a chance to ask for the last one on the roll or the one with the special marks on the bottom.

What was your biggest single prize?
I won $200 twice on scratch tickets. One was a $5 and the other was a $20 ticket. Both were last year. the $5 ticket I got at a lottery vending machine in a stop and shop supermarket. I just picked any random ticket and I got the $200 winner. On the $20 dollar ticket, I was changing the trash bags at my job and saw 2 of the losing $20 billion dollar bonanza tickets which were consecutive tickets. I knew that there was a 1 in 2.99 odds of winning on those, so I asked the clerk which number was ne

PA Lottery Pay Day Ticket. Has anyone else had this happen?
I don't know much about vending machines. I'm not sure who stocks them. (I assume the retailer) Maybe the store didn't validate the book of tickets before stocking the machine? That or a computer glitch may be the cause. Of course a computer glitch could mean anything. I hope you are able to collect. If not... At least you didn't win $100 or more. That would be a tough pill to swollow.

Listen to people
Don't beat yourself up too hard...it would have only netted you less than $500 after taxes (assuming you do pay taxes) on a $1 straight bet win. But on the real, I agree with the others...why ask someone if you don't follow through and play the numbers...hell I know most people blow a few dollars on name your addiction (i.e. smokes, liquor, beer, pop, any kind of vending machine product) most days so $1 would not be missed by most. Now if in the future you ask someone for 6 numbers to play for M

trashed tickets
Everything you all said is cool i mean we might do that check them thourally but the general public ususlly dosent. I was in the royal farm store yesterday and they have a scratch off vending machine next to the coffee dispencer. in the trash can where they toss out old coffee grinds and stuff there were hundreds of scratch off tickets thrown out. sometimes if is not to dirty and i humble myself and dig them out, i have found many tickets worth anywhere from a freebee to 20 bucks. Playing every ticket from a machine.
I took the Vending Machine Challenge for a typical CA Scratchers machine. It wasn't as bad as I thought, was sure I'd get less than 50% back, but made back 80%, $53 on $66 spent.(our CA scratch games are puny compared to East coast) Playing just 1 ticket of a game is not usually a good idea, so I would normally never play this way. I also hardly ever play the smaller $1, $2, or $3 games, this is probably the first time this year. I especially avoid extended play games like crossword and bingo
