Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
what the difference if they do change it.....for that matter, the odds of winning the $1000 top prize on the $1 jumbo bucks is 1 in 50,000 and that seems as hard as winning the powerball. Its not like it won't ever get hit.....somebody's gonna hit it regardless of what the odds are.

What do you think about this guy?
I agree, but what about buying a large amount of tickets to increase your odds of winnings, I believe if you buy only one Mega Millions ticket its like 1:175000000 to win, but if you bought like 100 tickets its like 1:1750000, still a long shot but better odds of winning. So does anyone think this is better, meaning buying more to increase you potential to win?? ( I know this is a little off subject but I thought about it when I read mech2009 response)

Lucky Lotto Picks System by "Pete Egeler"
Yeah, those systems, some of them are very expensive. It has been said that there is a sucker born every minute, I mean, I guess some people think if they spend a lot on a system that it can beat the odds that much more. Well, nobody has been able to beat the odds on a consistent/profitable basis yet, but there is no shortage of people who are willing to waste money trying.

Holiday Raffle Games
They do. Ours is $10.00 I'll probably get one, but I'm in no hurry and don't think it that importnt. The state didn't get anywhere near selling all their tickets earlier this year. But even with the odds reduced bcause of that, I missed winning anything. However, it is the best odds, even as large as they are...

Copyright@ Brand New 50/50 Filter !
Each 50/50 filter you add is another heads or tails you must correctly call in a row, what are the odds of that? Just one 50/50 filter is all you need to play at a profit online with a 90% return. Maybe it's just me, but one filter you have a good shot at correctly calling is better then potentially more profitable four filters with good odds you'll get one wrong. BobP

Tenn. Lottery CEO claims recent errors didn't hurt sales
That's probably correct. Good point. People who play, for the most part, I think are not really players since quick picks are the majority of the sales. These same people would likely be buying tickets based upon the size of the jackpot that they could win, rather than the odds against them of winning it. So Pick 3 and Pick four, while having the best odds, would not be as interesting, since the jackpots are so comparatively small.

In the ongoing quick picks discussions...
Powerball:
The numbers still out there are 70% of all winners are QP's, and 70% of all sales are QP's, so that is inline with what a person should expect.
Still, I don't like QP's because I've bought a few before, and I don't like the odds: I've been sold 5/0's and 0/5 splits, with numbers like 12-13-14-16-20, and so on, and those rarely hit (Yes, I know, all it takes is just one time for that to hit..), but still, if the odds are 68% towards a 2/3 or 3/2, the odds are about 8% on a 5/0 o

A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
I understand that boards have more lurkers than members and thatpeople read these threads thinking, these guys know how to cut the odds down , by whatever means you want to call it.
Do we really need all these math lessons to understand if we buy 1000 tickets we have a better chance of winning the jackpot than if we only bought 1 ticket?
Most people probably get about 10 tickets even the jackpot is high so the odds are irrelevant and certainly not worth an argument. The topic is a doll

A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
2/175,711,536 is not the same as 1/175,711,535. 2/175,711,536 is the same as 1/87,855,768. People aren't concerned with what the odds of a single line are. They are concerned with their odds as a whole. That's why they buy more tickets.

You might also want to take a C++ computer programming course so you can make a computer program based off a system you've developed for choosing lottery numbers so you can turn Pick 5 odds into less than Pick 3 odds.
