Weird numbers
Yeah stick to QP's lol. Most systems also encourage an even mix of odds and evens. But I have found through all my tracking that very rarely ever does a 2-2-2 come up with 3 odds and 3 evens.

Store clerk judging you.
Jarasan the funny thing about those odds. They are how many winners average over the amount of tickets printed and a lot of people think that they are if you buy 4 or 5 tickets you should have at least one winner but that is not the case. The odds are computed by the number of winning scratch-its versus how many tickets are made for that game. So you can see how you could buy $20 worth of $1 tickets and only get like 5 winning tickets.-weshar75

Michigan Lottery starts Millionaire Raffle game
I agree...100,000 to1 odds is much more appealing. I wouldn't play for 20 bucks at any higher odds than that. I'm hoping IL gets into this ballgame under the same parameters as MI. A 5/39 game is 575,000 to 1 and I'm spending a buck a day on it. I'd play the raffle and suspend my 5/39 betting for 20 days.

Betslips Plays for 11/9
OK Rick - I understand. But I would question why one would drop a state that's doing so well, and beating even the long term odds? For a state like that I would think you'd want to keep a close eye on that state for the long term to see if it keep ahead of the odds. It could be your cash cow state!!! OK, I'll get off my soapbox now!! :-))

Congratulations To MegaMillions
You must have designed Chaos55 to lose because the odds of matching 2 in a 5/56 game are 1:18 and you managed to not match 2 with 55 combinations beating the odds of not matching 2 by 3x. You should be congratulating yourself for designing such a program.

Personal Numbers
FYI. Mathematician who do this type of figuring have said that the odds of the same combination hitting twice in not the same as it hitting once. So once a combination of numbers has hit the odds of them hitting again are different.

Personal Numbers
Every combination has exactly the same chances as each of the other possible combinations. Period. Eliminating some of the numbers from your selection process does nothing, nada, zip, to increase or decrease your odds. Your odds of winning are determined by the matrix and the number of chances you play. Period. No matter how much anyone thinks otherwise, it's really that simple.

Personal Numbers
What really is bad is that I always beat great odds when they work against me. One time I played 3 last draw eliminations for about $50.00. Because I noticed that very rarely were the same balls drawn again. Sure enough when I decided to play them, 3 balls come up from the last draw alone! Yes, THREE! The odds of that are astronomical, unless of course I play it.

It's none of my business how you play the lottery, first of all. You can do what you wish. I think I do understand, at least in general terms, what you are trying to say, but I am telling you that you are kidding yourself.
I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say 0/5, 3/2 etc, but the appeal to past events in probability has no bearing whatsoever on future events, first off.
I'm not sure I can convince you of anything, but you can try this on for size, and see if it helps.

canada 6/49 numbers
With 6 numbers you have 15 possible combinations of two's to use as key numbers. Your odds of having the other 4 number correct in a 6/49 game are 1:211,876. multiply that by the 15 possible sets of key numbers and your odds of having all six numbers correct are 1:3,178,140 providing two of those six numbers are winners. I think you could do just a well using the most active six numbers for your sets of key numbers.
