probability of euromillions rollover
I still don't see how the odds would be at 17% for a rollover. Seems like next to impossible now considering the low odds and the spike in sales.

This should be required reading
This book isn't about how to win the lottery, it's about how the states set up the lotteries, odds, break-even amounts, house edge, etc...Lottery Book : The Truth Behind the Numbersby Don Catlin The publication date is 2003 so a few things are different, Mega Millions was 6/ 52 then, some other games have added numbers and thus increased the odds but the principle is the same. There is also a chapter about winners- The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Odds only count when I loose. Just give me the money and watch the hurricane I'll create! I'll rent a yaht and throw a huge party. The flag of the ship will be replaced with a banner, saying, I don't care about no stinkin' odds!

FL's Lucky4life ($20)
Well I would usually say noway to this ticket. The odds are 1:3.2 and it's $100,000 a year for life but something told me to play yesterday. SO I did and I won $100 bucks. I did a little research and the odds of winning $100 were 1:30. I think I like $20 tickets now lol.

Lottery can not be beaten!!
It's not a question of beating the lottery. It's a matter of using short term trends to help reduce the odds against you.If you are talking about Jackpot games, it will always take a lucky hit to catch a jackpot. But the P3 and P4 can be hit more easily, since they have the lowest odds against you in the first place, and those can be reduced more efficiently. And since you basically say this is all useless, the question comes to mind....Why are you here at Lottery Post?

ANOTHER 4 out of 5...HOLY!!
Thanks konane - well I know I won't come any closer without hitting the big one. I DO feel like it's only a matter of time, but the odds jump rather staggeringly from 4 to 5 out of 5 in the Jersey Cash 5, as there are 40 numbers to choose from. The wheel certainly reduces those odds, but nonetheless still pretty high. Let's hope you're right!

Q: GA Pick 3
The other day there was a thread about what is the best lotto game to play and several people said the Georgia Pick 3, the odds were beter.Aren't the odds the same on all pick 3's, or did they mean the payoff structure (and aren't those all basically the same?)

Court may shut down Mega Millions in California
Prior to California joining MegaMillions press releases go out about potential $500,000,000 jackpots. (With that many nmore potential players). As California comes in, numbers are added to top and bottom (look at an old and new play slip), taking the odds from 140:000,000 : 1 to 176:000,000 : 1.If Califonia does leave, the odds will remain jacked up.Not too much different than when the casino sports books used to offer football parlay cards with half-point pointspreads and advertise Ties push o
