Maryland Lottery to end Lotto game
I'm dissapointed. They are making a really bad move. From 2 plays for $1, you now get 1 play for $2. In a way, the price is quadrupling. There's more info here. This is going to be a 6/43 game, BTW, and the odds of winning on the page are a bit flawed. The single line odds are for a single line, and not for all three.

Why do you play Multi-state lottery?
Count the number of people playing. Only one can win. The odds of a winner are the same, the odds of you being that winner are dependant on the number of players. The greater the number of jackpots, the greater your chances of being a winner.

The most important question on LP
I beg to disagree. The odds are astronomical something like 1 in 176 million. I just don't see how you can change that in a significant way, unless you lay down some serious dough as in millions. I think I read somewhere that the average amount spent by a lottery players is about $5.00 a drawing. Then again in the words of Han Solo Never tell me the odds .

MI-OH Game
Considering the populations of the two states, the jackpot odds should be at least 1:25 million. IMO one of the reasons Lotto South is falling apart is that the jackpot odds are NOT high enough.

Pick 3 Paradox? Question of probability
I'd say if you live in Western Canada, the odds are pretty good. The last three draws were593, 953, 953. And here's me blaming it on our greedy government rather than mathematical odds.

Play a little often or a LOT rarely?
The odds of winning the powerball are 1/146,107,962. With those kind of odds, it may be wise to play a lot once in a while. However, a lot of jackpot winners won only playing 5 quick picks. I play a LOT once in a while, but that is because I wait for the jackpot to reach $100 million. How often do you play?
