The Problem with Keno
Guys, if you go to the following address: and type 20 numbers out of 80 you are going to see that: http://www.easysurf.cc/lotodd.htm the odds are really high, extremely high...This website is a lottery odd calculator...YOu put how many balls are drawn from your particular lottery and you put how many balls in total there are in that particular lottery and it will give you the odds...Also, to wheel 7 numbers it requires lots and lots of combinations, now imagine 10, it will require a vast amount

Wow - wow - wow - Euro Millions $94.3 Million CASH
Thanks for the heads-up, Todd.I agree Euro looks good. And when the odds get into that range it's probably moot whether they're a few million this way or that, compared to another lottery. It's going to take a lightningstroke of luck, or some seriously good system to reduce the odds to win any of them. If a person has either of those Euro's probably the best store in town.Gracias,Jack

200 Million!!
I have a feeling this will be the first time it takes three drawings to break 300 not two. 200 then 240 then just under 300. Odds don't look good for that happing. Maybe Prob988 could figure out what the odds are now of breaking 300.

Wow - wow - wow - Euro Millions $94.3 Million CASH
From what I understand, Prime Ticket Service buys their tickets in the UK, so the money does not go to France. Also, for someone who studies lottery games so closely, I'm surprised by your odds comment. Mega Millions has the worst odds of any lottery game on the planet. And for the price, the payback from Euro Millions is MUCH better. The lowest prize you can win (and there are 14 ways to win) returns almost the entire cost of the order (over $18), whereas Mega Millions doesn't come close.I thin

My MM prediction for 9/9/05 or 9/13/05
I don't play lots of lotto because of the odds Phaiset. It may only take $1 to win a jackpot for CA SLP, MM, and PB, but the odds are too much for me to play MM. I rather spend my money on more important things like food, education, etc.

MM and PB jackpots
I'm wondering from an odds perspective if less sales per rollover makes it more or less likely that the jackpot will break 300. Per drawing the odds of a winner drop but it has to survive that more drawings to get there.

MM and PB jackpots
I'd estimate that the probability of a $300M jackpot in MM, based on a current jackpot of $170 M, is somewhere between 40% to 50% now. There is no history for the current lottery set up - higher odds, declining buying strength, and the presence of California to look at, so it's speculative at best. The $294M pot won in MA a little while back sold $132.5M tickets. With the new odds, such a sales figure would generate slightly less than a 50% chance of a rollover.

Have you cutback with longer odds?
Well if the sample of Lottery Post players is correct, at least some of the cutback in sales is attributable to the longer odds. Many years ago, when I lived in California, they had an occassion where they lengthened the odds from a 6/49 game to a 6/54 game. Sales fell so far that they went to a 6/51 game.

Have you cutback with longer odds?
I've cut back purchases. I'm curious if other regular MM and PB players have done the same.
